i need help life stinks

ive wanted to race for ever and my parents wont let me, well i got them to actually sit down and think about it, then i wrecked by 4 wheeler and busted my leg which is in a huge cast. i need help what should i do:ermm:

Be responible, good grades in school. Work and pay for your quad if you already don't. Help around the house. Basically suck up to them.

I know what its like to have parents that are gone all of the time. My dad owns a small business, hes the chairman of the board at a college, hes the district governer of the Lions club, and he also is on the board of the church. When hes not doing that he is restoring cars or going to carshows. When he is home, he just sits upstairs on his laptop (which I dont blame him, I would want to sit down and relax with a busy schedule his). I'm also the only kid at home now.

Well, how exactly did you wreck? Were you just riding around and had an accident, or fooling around (which we all do:p )? I would personally tell them that it is something that really interests you. Its a good hobby, sure it may be a little dangerous but you will only get better the more you ride, it takes practice. Show them how much it means to you in what ever way you can. Spend a lot of time on the quad (if its still rideable) and ride it really careful when they are watching. Make sure they see that you always wear a helmet and that your friends wont pressure you into doing anything stupid. Thats all i can think of for now so good luck!

getting your way with parents is all about 2 things.... first is ovcoarse nagging like crazy and second (nost important) is leverage. if there is somthing that they dont want you to do per say more than race thet they cant stop you from doin but really dont want you to do.... kinda hint that if ya cant race, than i coult allways_________. or somthin like that. worked better with my mom than my dad . i used gettig a tattoo ... my dad told me if i did before i was 18 he wuld cut itoff with a butter knfe , but my mom gave right away..but who knows ... give it a try might work for ya

I would have to say if my daughter wanted to race quads and then broke her leg on one and needed a full cast it would take awhile before I would let her. 6 months at the least. She would have to show me she was responsible enough to handle a quad safely.

I suppose ride your quad slow with your parents around and they will build thier trust up in you.

I've been riding since I was 4 but my parents would never help me get a sport quad.... Now i'm 20 and got a full mx hybrid :cool: ..... There's alot more gratification in doing something completely on your own...

Anyways, back to the original question. Just try to be responsible and show your parents that you won't get hurt. Butter em' up and make em' feel comfortable with you riding the quad and not getting hurt first, then try and convince them into letting you race.

Wow... this thread makes exriders look like a group of immature children. So the girl has bad grammar. Alot of people do. I'm sure if you went to high school you have heard worse. Maybe none of your parents care enough to worry about you racing or riding but my parents started the same way she describes her situation. Just keep riding with friends and get better at it. Encourage your parents to come watch you ride. Let them see that you are ready. They are only trying to keep you from getting seriously injured or worse. If you wrecked your quad (however it happened) without being in a race bad enough to hurt yourself, then you aren't ready to race anyways. It takes time to get good at riding. I know what it is like to be in your shoes. I want to race so badly but I am not ready and I know it. You should know when you are ready but you really need to sit down and think about it to know if you are ready or not. My suggestion would be to train. To win races you have to be in good shape (which I am not). That comes even before riding skill. You can't win a race with all the skill in the world if you aren't physically capable. If your parents notice you are training and showing discipline to get ready to race, chances are they will reconsider. Next is practice. Ride whenever you have the chance. The only way to get better at riding is to do so. If you are really serious about racing I would attempt to get a job. Racing is expensive. The parts, entry fees, and transportation adds up quick. Try this and see what happens. If nothing else you will be a better rider, and you will be in shape. As far as posting on this forum goes. I would attempt to use better grammar if you can. Think about what you are about to post before you post it. If you make a mistake there will always be someone there to point it out. Good luck with racing, and since no one else has been courteous enough...Welcome to the forum.

My suggestion as a parent is to just wait until your old enough to make the decision. Not all parents are gonna go for there kids riding/racing quads unfortunaly.

Your almost of age. Just tough it out , get a job. Be responsible and buy your own when your out on your own.
