i have been having problems with my 416 ex battery power. the battery was dead when i bought it. i put a new battery in it and the new battery dosent seem to be getting a charge when the quad is running. i checked all of my wires there were a couple loose ones but i tightened them. i still had the problem after. the battery dies even quicker when i ride at night with the headlights on. it is winter here in PA but it still shouldnt die like that. does anyone have any suggestions on what they think is wrong or if they could help it would mean alot to me.

thx

if you have a voltmeter, check to see that your at least getting higher than 13vdc while over 1k rpm or so...

if you dont have one, get one.. youll need it later in life..

you can probably tell if your getting a charge by watching the light get brighter when you rev the motor.. that only works if the battery is presently too low as is..
otherwise, if youve changed the battery, checked all the connections(including the fuse) id guess the rectifier is bad.. :(

Id say the regulator rectifier, its a little black thing with cooling fins mounted to the frame close to the battery..

what was it? or have you still not solved it..

might be an oddball thing like a wire with a short to the frame, a bad kill switch or the like..

I had the same problem. Had a new battery after setting awhile the battery was dead. What I did was charged the battery pulled the fuse and let it set for a week or so refused it started right up. So I believe it's the rectifier drawing amps from the battery.
