Looks like the main jet has the hex head, like the kiehin cr style jets. What type of carb is it? is it a cr or fcr? or something else.
What do the designations on the carbs mean...such as cr, fcr,pe,pj and so on? Is there a guide online which defines them?
Is it a cv type carb?

stock carb on a 300ex has a kiehin carb. and thos CR style jets are just your typical Hex head keihin main jet. the stock carb is by no mean an FCr carb. i dont know the meanign of the carb letters but can tell you that the F in FCR means Flat as in flat slide . your 300ex is a round slide carb, there are also D slide, flat slides, and oval slide carbs.

I dont think the stock honda carbs have a "style" perse' other than honda style. They are specially made for Honda. If oyu have the hex head, jets then thay are just the standard long hex keihin main jets, as you guessed. Then needle and pilot are also standard Keihin.

So its just a plain slide type carb? with a rocker on top for pulling up the slide.
Thanks guys.

Correct. Nothing fancy about it at all.

If you go to servicehonda.com you can pull up a nice exploded view of the carb.
