I am looking for the best combo out for the 2006 TRX 450 now. I have someone looking, trying to decide between the Houser linkage, and the Elka linkage.

im in your same position. i think im going to go with the elka just because its made by the same company that makes the shock.

I looked at them, and the customer checked them out. They seem to offer the same linkage for the 2005 & 2006. However, I know Honda changed something, so I would it designed for the 2006.

They are not the same linkage!

Gt Thunder has like 8 or more different links for the 450r

For what it's worth, we just installed Elka suspension front and rear on an '06ER, with the Elka rear linkage. It is a well built unit, quite different from the '05 model. It hangs a little lower than the stock linkage, but not by much. We will have to alter the swingarm skid plate maybe an inch at the biggest gap for proper clearance.

The only thing we have to compare it to is stock, but it is really nice. Very compliant, sticks well, and Elka's service has been first rate!

doug, try running the stock linkage with a resprung/revalved rear shock. from what im being told it is preforming as well as those with a linkage installed on the 06

im not taking away what a linkage can do, but its not as "needed" on the 06 and i am basing that soley on what riders are telling me after testing a few different set ups out. these are pro riders not chumps so i do believe them, but i cant say from my own expierence until i get a chance to ride them etc.

Baldwin is working on the '06 linkage right now. He should be done with it very soon. He said I should be able to get the rear shock and linkage by next weekend.
