Got my r450 on Friday, walked in to the dealer to look at it and ended up buying a white one, need less to say the bike is Bad A** . I'm finally retiring my 250r.
As soon as I picked up the bike I went over to my buddies shop - Performance ATV, Miami, FL and we began getting it ready for the track on Sunday. I removed the headlight and brake light, which could have not been any easier. Swapped the bars for some Tag and swapped the clutch lever and brake lever for some ASV levers. I also swapped the rims and tire from my r, (same bolt pattern as the r). The width on this bike is the same as my r which is + 2.
Spent Sunday riding on the track and I have to say I was very impressed with the bike. The only thing is that the bike does come restricted from factory. I already order the Cherry Bomb which I should have by Wednesday. I was very impressed with the suspension, it felt close to the elkas on my r. It was a bit stiff but with a little adjustment they felt much better. The shifting was very smooth and throttle response was excellent. The bike handled very good on the turns and jumps. The placement of the bars and pegs are just right.

looks like your in a public riding area, I can imagine all the people who must have come up to you looking it over and asking questions(much like people did when the 700R was brand new)

Sweet quad. Looks good.
A couple of questions. Is the steering stem anti vibe? What did you use to fit up the TAG bars?

No the stem is not anti vibe, I also read somewhere that it was but its not. I used the kit that comes with the tag bars.

What bend handlebars are you using?

The two I saw at the San Jose show definately had antivibe stems. They must of changed it for production. Did you use a Z400 kit or was it new for the 450?

TAG make some bike specific kits and they also make a universal set. The reason I ask is that I have the LTZ/KFX kit on my KFX and wondering whether or not I want to go back to stock and use the TAG bars on the LTR- if my dealer ever gets more than one!

What did you do with the indicator lights? Did you remount them?

I picked one up last night. I mounted up the T2's from my KFX and they worked fine. I would like to keep the lights but there is not many choices as to where to relocate them to. I may just disconnect them like you did.

So the stock mounts will take fatbars?

No. The stockers are for 7/8" bars. You need to change the clamps too.

Went to the local dealer last night to purchase a new trailer for hauling a quad and as i was tlkaing to the salesman the words didn't even leave my mouth (was going to ask if they had gotten and LT-450R's in yet) I saw the new owner ripping through the parking lot on the first one they had in....SOLD.
