Over the weekend I went on a tear and decided to clean the **** out of my 400EX. I had blown a sidewall on my stock front tire and was installing my new holeshot XCT fronts. While checking to see the correct ft/lbs for the lugs I noticed in the manual that the spark arrestor should be removed and cleaned. Ok, no problem. I removed the three bolts and the s.a, brushed it off and put it back on. Careful not to cross-thread the bolts I tightened them and snapped one! They would not even go back on tight and it snapped!

I know I can tap the bolt and that will satisfy the one bolt - but what about the others. I dont want to tighten them anymore (they are tight) but they are not holding the sa tight to the muffler...

Anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions on what to do?

Drill and tap all three holes for a piece of allthread, JB weld that stuff in there, run some wingnuts down the all thread to hold the spark arrestor on, then trim the excess.
