I'm wondering who perfers what, as far as looks go. I perfer piggyback, but rezzies would be more practical for where I ride. Could some people post pics and preferences of both?

Piggybacks w/o a doubt, you dont have to worry about where your gonna but the cans:ermm: - on a 400ex you dont really want to block the cooling passage for the motor- just my preference.

Mounting them isn't a problem. There's many places on the frame to mount it, even places that won't hurt airflow. Do you have a pic of your piggybacks?

Elka quadrate for long-travel.

I prefer remote rezzies. I like how they look better, and you can mount them in different places to keep them more out of the way of debris for XC or where they will get more air flow for MX.

I like the piggy backs just for the fact there easier to put on and take off. No messing around with hose or ressie clamps.

Yuuuup

I"ve had both and piggy backs rock if you pull your shocks off often. Fug them lines and mounting the rezzies on the frame, and blah, blah, blah

I prefer Piggybacks, had remote rezzies until about 2 months ago, never going back....

You will know why once you get the piggy backs, you can get them off in 10 mins, it took more than 10 mins to get the rezzies off alone.

id have only piggybacks if i could, ESPECIALLY on the rear

But isn't there a bigger chance of hitting the piggbacks on something and breaking them off? If that happens you can just replace the broken part, not have to replace the entire shock?

Why do you say only piggybacks? what do you like better about them? I need to find this info out fast because I'm ordering them in about 2 hours.

I'm not sure what you would hit all the way by the top shock mount, if you did, OUCH! It would have to clear the bumper and the bottom lip of the plastic.......

I would like to see something try and get past my bumper!

this issue (breaking a piggy back) has been played out on here before. and i am sure it can happen, but simple logic would dictate more likely damage to a rezzy line on a remote then damaging a piggy back.

the ease of removale for maintance and over all looks are why i would chose them.

I completely agree. The ease of removal is a big plus in my mind and not having to hassle with rerouting lines if I need to take the shocks off. Plus piggybacks just plain look good. :)

piggy backs jus the ease of mounting them on and off and plus looks cleaner easier to adjust. I also think it cools the rezzy better being out in the open. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v367/250ex3/100_5167.jpg

ok, i have broke off my compression adjustment knob 1 time, and i have rode with elka piggy backs for around 3 years, i was doing 3rd gear around a corner on a flat track, my outside tire hooked up and my bike flipped about 4 times, elka replaced it for free :macho

also, piggybacks ARE better, instead of having to travel the fluids all the way through the lines it is a direct flow, which means your shock will run cooler, plus like everyone said, its no hassel to put them on :macho

Yeah Yurik, but you're sponsored by elka! Would they replace it for free for me?
