Please give me some advise, I need new tires for my 400 ex, we have alot of hills and trails where I live. I was told by our local atv shop to try mudlites on the back and Kenda on the front, But I really wanted some Maxxis Razr tires. What tire does anyone reccomend? I could use anybody's help.
Thanks in advance!!

razr2 fronts r good, razr or razr2 rears are good, also holeshot h-d's in the rear are good from what i hear..

Top Choices (for your terrain) Rear Tire:

ITP holeshot XCR
Maxxis Razr2
ITP holeshot HD

i went to a kawasaki dealer recently and because all their quads come stock with ITP's, i got to see those XCR's!!! damn, those things are nice! they are sixply, and have a fairly aggresive pattern, but they also have slanted side bars for sliding on hard packed terrain! i plan on buying those in the future!

pretty all of my friends run the razr2's or HD's and both are EXCELLENT! the HD's work great on multiple terrains but are bit on the heavy side (the wear life on them is amazing though!)

also the Razr2's are very good as well! they are a bit more agresseive, but i think for softer ground and mud they have got to be some of the best tires around!

check out www.motosport.com for some SWEET deals on tires! they have free shipping for all orders over $100 (they dont even charge you extra for tires!!!)

try www.motorcycledreamshop.com for Razr 2's- $165 shipped for rears and $120-130 shipped for fronts, they also carry the I-Razrs also. or ebay- username: accessorysurplus, you cam get Kenda Klaws real cheap also- I run both types of tires and love them both- its user preference.

I ran Holeshot XCR's during a race- after the 1st lap, I had 6 side punctures, stopped and changed both tires- put on my Razr2's and finished another 5 laps. now the xcr's are flower ordaments:p

i run with utilities most of the time, so the trail can get real aggressive.. although ive gotten into a couple of spots, i always pass by people with trail treaded tires on sport quads who get stuck in a hole because the tire wouldnt dig well enough to get them out..

i swear by sur-trak's(or Realtor's are good too) for use on "non-tended" trails..
http://traxms.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=M09082&Category_Code=ATV-Tires-Mud-Maxxis-Sur_Trak..

never in a hurt for "bite" and they clean out extremely easy..
ive not had to back down a hill since i put them on..

I have read nothing but good things about the Razr2's. Now I just have to find the right price! I am still going to keep looikng at these posts so I can really narrow it down, Thanks for all the input so far and keep it coming!

I have a set of razor 2's on the rear of my 400 . they are like a pair of rototillers. I love'em. I wanted the 6ply also for the tight trails i ride. They are alot heavier than stock and i found that i lost some top end but most of my riding is 1st through 3rd and there is no differance there.
