Ok i just wanted to make thread to see what you guys think of the yoshi exhaust. i picked it up yesterday and so far i like it. I havent gottent to really try it out, i will on monday though. When i went to yoshimura they told me that thier exhaust would give 3-4 hp above the 8hp gained with no baffle and a Cherry bomb. So that should put the ltr at around 44 hp or so. I got the stainless steel which was $550, the titanium was over $800.

I also talked to them about the PIM EMS box and they said that it would only give about .5 hp and the cherry bomb will work just as good with an exhaust.

heres some pics of the new LTR, some stock and some with the exhaust.

 didn't know you could get it already. Is there a big difference in the header size?

AceLtz

not a huge difference but the yoshimura header is a little bigger. Yoshimura hasent even sent thier exhausts out yet. i only got one because thier assembly plant, R&d facility, and Suzuki racing are all 10 minutes from my house. Thats where i went to pick this bad boy up. :p

Lucky,by the way the z400 bumper fits the ltr.

I have an ac on my z400 and it does not fit. the top mount for the bumper is almost 2 inches narrower on the ltr.

Looks very good. But does that pipe look like it is cocked to right side.. It looks kinda twisted down on the right side.. But either way it looks good.. I think I am going to pick the LTR up on Tuesday.. A local dealer has 2 white ones and they arent even taken or spoke for yet(hard to believe) so I think If they have it Tuesday I will pick one up.. The price is right on it too.. $6997 OTD price..

What is the black box on the left side of the motor?

That would be the battery. They cant put it in the rear because of the exhaust and the airbox

Looking at the way the stock muffler bolted up on the inside of the frame tab (right side), if you mounted the Yoshi on the inside like the stock, it would probably straighten it up????? Or does it not fit?:huh

So does it RIP! ???

hmm i dont see that? from the pics both mount on the outside of the tabs. I dont remember how they were but look at the pics. I think its just crooked beacuse the tabs arent parralel to each other. With some adjustment it will be good.

Its a vanilla sunday with hot fudge and two bing cherries on top!

Oh for the LT-R.....its a plug in modual thingamajig that alters fuel and possible ignition timing, not sure on the timing thing though. The PIM does that i think.

Who knows but it only yeilds like a horsepower or two at very best. Sneaky how Yosh marketed that thing claiming 7 horse power from it when 6 of the 7 horse came from taking out the pea shooter and removing the airbox lid.

All in all, i still bought one. Came yesterday. Now if only the last dealer to get the Zukes, MY DEALER, would get the damn things i could get to ride it! I hate waiting. Stop posting pictures of your new bikes people, your making me more angry

No what they said was to do all 3 things. Pea Shooter, Lid, and Cherry Bomb. This also goes straight to the matter of everyone claiming you dont have to do anything with the EFI for aftermarket mods like an exhaust.

The cherry bomb exists to get the fuel back in line after removing the lid and doing exhaust. Without it you will be waaaaay too lean and breathing fire.

Do not confuse tuning the f/i map with accessing the ECU's 2nd race map. Two different things.

The CB (aka Z-Speed) just enables the race map..... the Yosh pim (is an ems unit with two maps). You also get extra rpm up top.

The FIMAK makes changes to the FIM maps and then save them to the PIM.

Do the Yosh PIM maps both differ from the "Hidden" or 2nd race map in the ECU?

Rich would cause the "breathing fire" not lean.
If you add the cherry bomb, which triggers a more aggresive map with more aggressive afr's (leaner than stock) with the higher recomended octane and did NOT remove the air box lid and the baffle out you would be running rich. Lots of fuel not enough air.

which is much safer than running leaner afr's
