its a liquid not a powder. the molydendum sulfide (sorry if i spelled that wrong) is carried via a liquid agent that evaporates almost immediatley upon contact with a pre heated (120 degrees) part. after the application the part is cured at 325 degrees(part temp) for 1 hour.

without molycoated shafts

I can see why this molycoat keeps stuff from rusting now. How long does the liquid (oily) stuff keep coming out of the part.

I'll be sending you a lot more stuff to molycoat this coming winter.

actually the oil is exactly that, oil.

when it comes out of the oven, and allowed to cool a bit, you "burnish" the part with oil. this oil seeps into the pores while cooling and the coating is locked in. usually i whipe it all off before i ship but yours i wanted to remain that way so you could see how slippery it stays:p

The newest version of the matt black moly is a bit more black and has more of a sheen then the old version. The company stated it was done merely for a better appearence.

It looks pretty sweet.

I might have to send you more stuff soon. Maybe when I get a total on shocks and rpm order.

no prob at all, it is easier for me to do a larger batch but i usually have enough to do atleast 1 batch a night so downtime and turn around are good

Pappy

nope, you can wear the color away and the metal is still 100% protected!

i reckon it depends on what you feel is expensive, $1 a bolt or washer is what i get. the smaller parts are actually a pain to do, but ive done them:p

does it hold up on sprockets?

Pappy

yep. my 450R sprockets have been done for almost a year, they are shiney inbetween the teeth but absolutley no rust and no signs of wear.

It does get confusing. But I'm trying to use everything with a honda pattern, since I have a good collection of honda wheels and sprockets.
