does this do anything performance wise? also will the bike run right with it out

It helps a lot, Just rejet it and you will be fine.

You will be amazed at the gain if you pull the s/a do the cam mod and take the lid off.

how much does the cam mod cost? i am goin to put the kickstart on the yfz so i guess i might get that done while im there,

The cam mod dosent cost anything if you do it yourself. All you have to do is turn the exhaust cam back one tooth.

I think you have to have the cam mod done for the kickstart to work anyways.
