Hey I'm new to the site but i have a question thats been bugging the crap out of me. I own a 2002 400Ex that was bored to a 440. my friend before me put two oil coolers on. (I dont know if this caused it or what) but after i change the oil and ride it around for a while, i go back to check it and theres a bunch of little bubbles on the dip stick. Is this normal or is something wrong.

I was thinking maybe because of the oil sloshing around or something

Is there any oil leakage? I've never noticed bubbles on my dipstick. Maybe it's time for an oil change?

No, theres no leakage. I just went back and checked it and there werent any there so i think its just due to the oil just moving around inside the tank and what not.

still new to small engines but in the automotive world foaming oil is a sign of the motor being over filled.

i had to 00 400ex.i put quaker state oil for auto.the engine would stall out,and foam real bad, also had to keep running.
the additives in car oil is not the same as motor cycle oil.plus it's not good for your clutches. try honda oil and a new filter

start it and let it idle for at least 4 mins.shut it off and check the oil level 3 times cleaning the dipstick each time.adjust the level and your done.my buddy used to overfill his 400 all the time.you must check it right after you shut it off.it is a dry sump system, not much oil is stored in the engine when it is running. After you shut it off the oil level between the tank and the engine try to equalize, raising the level in the engine and lowering it in the tank.making it easy to overfill, which gets you some nice foamy oil.hope I helped
