where is the vin number

I am trying to register a lt230 quadsport that my brother in law has had for the longest time. I found a vin number on the frame, but the dmv wants a pencil sketch of it. I also found a number on the bottom left hand side of the motor. It doesnt match up to the number on the frame, so I was wondering if this was a vin or not. the number is J411-134968 on the motor. The number on the frame is JSAAJ434 J2100795And also how do i figure out what the year is.

The number on the frame is the vin number. Some states want both the vin and the engine number so you might sketch both and just be sure you remember which is which when you go to the dmv.
