their all gr8 stems- the best stem I've came across was a modified Houser, after 3 wrecks, my houser was tweaked, I had a machineist friend cut the stem off below the top mount and the bump stop section, then I had him weld in a solid shaft- I've been running it for 4.5 years now and no issues:) , yes- it addes a few more pounds to the wheeler but I havent had to replace it yet. Before I had it modified- I went through 2 stock, 1 burgard, and the houser I'm currently useing. Now if Honda ever came up w/ a better mounting support for the upper section of the stem- any stem would work perfectly. I have a co-racer thats twisted 3 stems on his YFZ- I thought Honda had issues, Yamaha has them beat-hands down on defective areas:ermm:

Rath does something on the 450R stems that most dont. He lowers the bracket where the rod ends attach, it makes the angle lower, supposed to help with bump steer.

yes....BUT....

the size of the factory stem is hard to get in standard chromoly. the majority of the stems on the market are smaller then stock and require the 400ex stem mount. make sure to ask what size the stem is (shaft size) before ordering a stabilizer!
