Anyone been to Florence lately? I am going the last weekend in Feb and was wondering what to expect as far as the condition of the sand goes?

So pretty much the same as always lol. What about drop offs? Are they worse than normal? Last time I was there was September. Thanks.

I just got back and the weather was awesome. The dunes on the other hand were very unusually soft and choppy. It made for some fun and fatigueing ridin'. Lots of like holes everywhere. I caught one at about 50mph and got tossed about 50ft. I was fine but my quad now needs a new steering stem, bars, clutch lever, brake line, sub frame, and grab bar. Limped it back to camp and got my other quad and proceeded to have a good time.

So in my ramblings, what i'm saying is you can always have a good time there. As 400EX Quader said "have a good time and be careful"

Man, that sucks. At least you had a spare to ride.

Well, we went and the riding wasn't that good. There really weren't even the jumps that Florence is known for. Everything was smooth as could be. Just goes to show how quickly the sand can change and why we always need to be aware of what is coming up next.
