View Full Version : putting new bars on were do i move key to?

I am going to put some pro tapper ATV med bend bars on my 05 450r but i was woundering were do i move the key and the temp light to? also how does the pice that covers the handle bar bolts come off?

i was going to remove it all to gether or put on my fender by drilling some holes as for the piece that covers the bars i think there is two small bolts on either side or it just snaps on hope this helps. and if u do decide to remove the key all together i think u have to do something with the wiringbecause the fan doesnt kick on i heard that smewhere on this site

i just left my key on all the time and put it under my fender. i use my kill switch now to turn off my quad. this is all my bars consist of. clutch w/hot start, kill switch, throttle, and brake lever.

ya i wanted to keep the key and the light. i will have to try and figure something out.

i put the key under the hood and just leave it on all the time and I taped the light to my handlebars. Dont really like it but it works

exactly how did you drill the whole to fit that in there? the oil light?

Or take a big drill bit and create your own hole like I did.

tehen what? disconnect wire, press in and reconnect wire? or come in from the bottom?

yeah man its common sense jeeze...

I unhooked the oil and neutral light on my 06, thn took a piece of diamond plate, drilld the hole and put it on the side of the fender, i leave iton most of the time.

i put mine on the front fender, where the 450r graphic sticker was, then put the overheat light zip tied to the wires comming up to my controls so i could still see it

I completely removed the key and made an aluminum bracket to hold the temp light
