sproket size

Got a dumb question:

My R has a 12 and 39 teeth sprokets is this more for low end or top end and what would be a good gearing for xc/trails riding(low end)

12/39 is all low end! What size of tires do you use? 20 or 22 inches I guess? Try it that way for your trails and if it is too low, try 13 / 39. I use 14/38 for mx with 18 inches tires.

i thought you went up on the front for more low end? any more help

up on front or down on back gain top speed

down on front or up on back gain grunt

1 tooth change on front sprocket = to 3 teeth change on rear.

im running 14/39 18" tires with an 86 tranny i still gotta be TAPPED out in fifth to make it pull 6th but if i dont set it up like that 1st is completly useless.... i still launch in 2nd though.
