Is there a difference in the 04 and the 05?I was looking for a 05 when I came across a 04 still in the box and it is a good deal. Can you still get a HRC kit with a 04?Should I keep looking for a new 05 or should I get the 04 because they are the same?

i think the 04's were the only ones without any problems and if they did have problems it wasnt as many as the 05's. Id get the 04

Does the 04 come with a hot start button or was that just on the 05?

The only thing that changed between 04 & 05 is the graphics and they went with a cheaper crank bearing in early 05 that caused failures. They do make a HRC kit for both years. Unless you're getting some SPECTACULAR DEAL, I would get the 06 with the HRC. It's a much better bike. Plus, it's faster than my built bike and the 06 is stock other than the HRC!

the 06 engine wont last as long as the other years beause it revs harder..is the extra little power worth it if you dont race? It isnt to me
