i have a hmf, k&n air filter, jeted. Does anyone no if i will gain more power if i take the air box lid off?

no i think u r mistaken it will give it a deeper sould through the air box.

do this start it and wile its running take the lid off and put it back on a few time and see how it makes a difference in sound.
