I am going to buy a cam and a high comp piston probably a je 11.1 with stock bore. I am going to attempt to do this myself... what needs to be done to the cylinder before putting the new piston in.

Make sure the cylinder is with in specs, and then a good hone job.

i put in a wiseco 11:1 piston and had to do no prep work... my cylinder has about 15 hours on it, so it didnt need to be honed, but if you have anymore then say 25 hours, i'd get it honed... should be about $25 at a local machine shop

From what i've read whenever new rings are installed the cylinder should be honed so the rings can seat properly.

I'm sure putting new rings in a used hone will 'work', how well and how long could be another story.

Hopefully someone with extensive experience on this subject will reply :)
