Tire selection at the XC track

Alright ive raced the past year on Razr2's all around, but lately I have seen most people running razr2's in front and std. razrs in the rear. What is the benifit to doing this? Also, are Irazrs the best for mud? Seems like every mud race in the GNCC series the pros make there way to the Maxxis both for some Irazrs.

The razr rears slide much better than the razrII or the Irazr.

they are lighter and cheaper just a geuss

but yeah the razr's i had a while back slid a good bit

the regular 6-ply razr rears are my favorite. the are much lighter and make your bike feel a bit quicker. and they are so predictable when sliding, whether you're entering on the brakes, exiting on the gas or just railing at high speed. i think they're the best all around xc tire.

oh, but i would much rather have 21in razr 2's on the front. best all around front tire for xc i think.

the razr 2 has a different tread on the fronts so it is better for turning, but the rears dont slide as good as the razr rears, or at least that is what I am told. I'm going to be getting some razr2 fronts and either razr,xcr,or klaw rears.

Thats what I was thinking. My rears have 2 seasons on them so I think I will try some Std. Razr's and Irazr's in the rear and stay with my 2's in front.
