standard spark arrester

i need to get my bike through a very strict noise test so seeing as my bike come with the standard pipe as a spare i took the spark arrester out to check it and all there is a Gauze in there is there supposed to be any exhaust packing in there or just this gauze it seems just to be an empty chamber

what kind of pipe is it and maybe show a pic of it i dont really understand that.

just the run of the mill pipe that is supplied with the bike from new but i dont know if it has been tampered with

there shouldnt be any packing in a stock exhaust, just a baffle with a screen

taking the 3 reaining bolts out of the end to remove the end cap found a gauze tube in a holo chamber with an hole at abut 8 oclock

fitted it today and got a reading of 98db out of a 452cc motor so will just scrape through
