Pro's and Con's 20" vs 22" for GNCC type racing? I mostly ride dirt and rocky terrain with a fair share of mud. I have 20" holeshots and I did have some traction issues in sandy clay mix. Hey, thanks in advance.

Kenda offers a 21" rear tire. I will be using those tires this year in baja. I've always liked the handling of 20" tires but are a little to small for baja and I feel the 22's are to big and heavy. The 21" tire should work just fine.

Well of course 1 pro to 22" tires are the extra inch of ground clearance, but you're loosing acceleration and gaining top speed. Another con is that they are a good bit closer to your heel gaurds and fenders (possible rubbing on the plastics etc).

Lose a tooth in the front and you may even gain acceleration. I have 22 inch tires for the ground clearance and have no rubbing anywhere. Are a bit heavy for jumping depending on the tires (ex. Bear Claws, Mudsharks, etc.) but definately worth it for the woods!

I agree 22s are the way to go .ITP is like the heaviest tire I would check tires and thier weights i like the Maxxis razors and not the Razors 2. I changed my gearing to a 13/38 and i am installing an Athena kit to help pull the the 22s with tire balls.

if you are REALLY serious about XC then id reccommend them but expect for a slower takeoff and more clutch usage. good ground clearance though

I love the 22''s the added ground clearance & traction in the rough stuff is much improved over the 20''s it also helps to run an agressive tire like a bearclaw or blackwater etc. Ive never had issues wi th any rubbing on heelguards but on the front of the rear fenders they rub just a little after getting big air & bottoming out nothing damaging or offensive otherwise they dont rub at all
