I think the quad should be able to beat it in the first 50ft. If you were on a honda no doubt, lol!

First 50 feet?

Hmmmmm....If the dude driving the Bimmer was a pro he'd be able to take you even in that distance I'm sure....however more than likely he will dump the clutch and roast the tires giving you a slight advantage....that is, until he catches traction.

The race would be over shortly after.

Quads don't fair too well against an average car, not to mention an M3!

Funny post but I have to respond...

As you can see from my signature, I have an 03' M3. It is no where near stock now but when it was I raced my YFZ against it a few times.

The M3 hands down, any driver, any distance, SMG auto or manual.

actually I was thinking about it right after I posted.....

i take care of my bosses M5 (which I love dearly - yes I'm talking about the car, not my boss). The traction control (DSP) system on it is great...you can pretty much dump the clutch in 1st and it will take off like a rocket without spinning the tires.

not very good odds on the quad.

50feet... the yfz has worn down tires so it will have good traction
my bro owns a workd rm250 no one will bet on this race against the car... my bro raced a worked 450r aceleration wise the 450r won but after 35mph the bike flew by like a rocket...
the the same 450r raced a stock yfz450 n won by a lil bit

i think very good race???

Please read the post from Freakystone who OWNS BOTH freakin vehicles. M3 and the YFZ. There is your answer... I fail to see why you question it...

That would be my first guess. I've ridden in one and those cars, and they are Fast!

You'll beat him to 60 and then after that he'll pull away.

Is it 4 speed or auto??

Because chances are if its a 4 speed and he just got his license, he will panic and have a bad launch and just smoke the tires.

I think there is a chance you can do it, just because he is a beginer driver. But you better hope he doesn't get a good launch. If he hooks up from the start then you are toast.

I raced a 450r in my old E55, which will smoke an M3.

And it was actually pretty close but I did end up winning. I had a horrable launch as well.

Your only hope is for him to have a horendous launch, and for him not to be able to recover. Because 50 ft is really short and if he smokes them off the start he wont recover quick enough.

But I would certainly not put money on it... This is low % chance that he screws up on the launch.

i think you guys are way over estimating your quads, if you have ever raced any type of car you know that you are going to get spanked. i raced my buddie one day down the hard pack at the beach and i smoked him on his 450r, i drive a lifted tahoe that is by no means fast and i was pullin my quad on a trailer behind me.

Yes, but everyone keeps telling you it wont win and you refuse to believe them.

My advice, bet every dime you own on yourself.

Come tell us the results.....if your computer isnt in the pawn shop by then.

I've seen a banshee race 2 mustangs! A 93 GT and a 98 GT. The Banshee won in about a 300 ft drag. It won both times. It was ported, polished, 4mm Crank, extended swingarm, toomey T-5's, jets, filter, reeds etc. More Just cant think of them. It was on a four lane about 3 am. Explain that?

Well I forgot to mention Mustangs are Fords :p Probably why they got beat. They need them a Camaro or GTO out there. But really though the Banshee handed it to the Mustangs. It was so funny. The guy on the banshee made alot of $$$ of those races too. Then I think now he's buying a cylinder kit from Trinity making his Banshee a 421
