How long do Carbon Fiber wheels last? I race XC and I am possibly getting Plus 1" A-arms up front and I will need to run 4-1 offset wheels. I have found a set of Carbon Fibers 4-1 that I can trade my 3-2 beadlocks for even up. The problem is the Carbon Fibers are 2 years old with probaly 15-20 races on them. Do they ever wear out? Please help me decide. Thanks, Josh

I have had mine for 2 and a half years and they are still in great shape. I bought another bike that had them on for maybe even 4 years, no problems at all.

they will last longer than your quad. IF you break one, they are a 4 piece wheel, so you can replace just the broken part

Thanks guys. I have seen a lot of Guys here in Missouri break wheels but they have been on the back no fronts. Later, Josh

I thinking about getting a set but I see they come in 3+6 and 4+5 offset, which ones should I get for XC?

the 4-5 is a stock offset for hondas, 3-6 gives you a inch wider per side

stick with 4-5 for XC

Josh- go with the HiPer wheels, If I could afford them I would have them. I am sick of trying to straighten the edges of my aluminum beadlocks. The HiPers look like they are built very well. See ya at the races. Josh

Do the beadlock rims still have a bead on the rim?. And are they as much work to change tires compared to a aluminum rim? I usually have to take mine to the local shop.( I gotta get a new tire changer)Heck I know guys that have cut their stock tires off because they couldnt get them off! Where is the best place to get them too and how much? Thanks....

hiper's will last a very long time. even if you're xc racing. i've only seen them break from overtightening the bolts, but never from hitting something in a race. something else will usually give before the wheels do. i know some very very good xc racers that have been on the same wheels for three or four years. and the rears are dual beadlocks so you only have to breakdown one side of the fronts when you change tires.
