How TIGHT should the drive chain be?

How tight should my drive chain be? What's the best way to tigthen it? remove a link?

Between 1 3/16- 1 9/16 inches of slack in the midway between the sprockets.

To adjust slack, loosen the 4 rear axle bolts (allen).
Turn the adjuster next to your sprocket (the slotted thing) till it's where you want it.
Tighten bolts.

well u gotta check it when its in gear too, cause good in neutral might be too tight in gear..someone correct me if im wrong....

So in other words, between the 2 sprockets on the swing arm, you should be able to lift the chain 1 3/16 or 1 9/16?

it should move 1 3/16-1 9/16 from the bottom of play to the top of play. push the chain down and them lift up, it should only lift up about 1 3/16-1 9/16, or 3/4" either up or down. another way to adjust the 400ex chain is found here (http://www.geocities.com/gtthunder.geo/sitemap_set.html)

Yes. And check it in neutral, with no resistance on the chain.
