its a full walsh chassis with gibson a arms because with those a arms it lets you run a 21" shock.you bought that from my freind steve from LI right?
i saw your thread saying you were looking for one so i gave him your #, i just called him and told him i want my commision.lol
that that is fast as he11, you wont be dissapointed, trust me.

Thanks for all the comments on the quad.

And yes, like quadracer 041 said, its all walsh except for just the lower arms are gibson. This is the same way all the east coast walsh hybrids used to be.

Quadracer041, THANK YOU for getting me hooked up with steve. As for Steve, he has to be the most cool and honest guy ive ever met, cant wait to go riding together.

thank you
justin

Blasterkid, Gibson only made 1 yz hybrid frame. Dave gibson sold it a few months back to an irish guy out of philli i ride with. Personally, i did not like the looks of it at all, looks to a mimic of a ROLL, but well, not close to as good. So gibson's frame building was extremely short lived for the YZ hybrid. East coast used nothing but walsh for there race quads before the production classes came.

Gibson did make 250r frames, my friend had one on his 250r. I'm unsure if they ever made hybrid frames, though. Sweet bike, jrspawn.

Thanks jester. As for the gibson 250r frames, they did make a good bit of those, but hybrid chasis, only one of the YZ ones is out there, not sure about crf ones.

hmmm *scratches head* why would someone mess with a walsh bike and put Gibson lower a-arms on it?

-I do know the answer was already stated previously... but just to run a 21" shock doesn't make sense... you aren't going to get any more travel out of running a 2 inch longer shock, the wheels can still only travel so far until the frame is on the ground. eh, oh well.

jrspawn
02-07-2006, 06:51 AM
All of the East coast Race quads before production ran this. They are the walsh upper arms, with custo gibson lowers. The lower arms have lower shock mounts then the original walsh, providing the more wheel travel. Its all about geometry.

Justin

If it had the Walsh lower flattie a-arms it would still have the same amount of travel with more ground clearance. East Coast put Gibson a-arms on the ECA bikes to promote their own product.

jrspawn
02-07-2006, 01:25 PM
I see now what you mean, the lower mounts for the gibson arms sits it down a little with the longer shocks, with the walsh arms with the shocks it would still get the same travle, just have more ground clearance do to the mounting. Sound right?

Either way it looks like you got a great deal.

jrspawn
02-07-2006, 01:38 PM
Yeah, did matt tell you what i got it for? I thought it was a good deal.

Is yours a narrow front? Ive never ridden a narrow front, some people say they are good, some people say they are different feeling. What do you think?

I've ridin that quads sister. She is much better looking. One of the mafia has Dustin Wimmers old CRF walsh. When he bought it they installed the walsh arms back on it for him. His first race was at Tomahawk in the mud, Man did it suck seeing that thing get buried to the top a-arm in mud. He has had good luck with it only a few problems here and there. Hopefully you will have the same luck. I can't find any pics or I would post them. Have fun with that quad a walsh definately has its own feel.

justin, you going to seaford(sp?) on sunday, steve called me and asked if i wanted to go but im not sure if ill have my head back on by then.
is seaford a good track?

jrspawn
02-08-2006, 09:01 PM
I should be there sunday. Sent the shocks back to axis and should have them friday, had to have them totally re done. Also need to fix the pipe, got looking and found out the mid pipe was cracked all the way around, so either got to find another pipe before sunday, or im just gonna have to wrap it up with some exhaust tape or something, any ideas?

Seaford is a sweet track, never really muddy, a good bit of jumps ranging from all sizes. And alot of fast as hell people ride there like delaware152,pgregg, gil, some of the jrd guys and more. I know for me just getting out there to watch those guys and dream as being as fast as them out there is fun:D You should come down with steve, any others coming down?

jrspawn
02-09-2006, 07:03 AM
I live in northeren delaware, i would say 15 min from the mem. bridge or so maybe. From my house its about an hour drive going the speed limit(which doesnt happen much) Its pretty much a straight shot to get too. We just take rt13. all the way down to bridgeville, make one left, then one right. If you want, give me a call at 1-302-750-0039 if you gonna come down.
