Who here has replaced there own crank bearings? Any tricks to it, short cuts, things that I dont have to take off that the book says to? I saw it said to remove the trans is that absolutely necessary or can it stay in the case? Anything else?

Im doing it as we speak. Although im buying a full new falicon race crank. You can just pluck teh tranny out and leav it one side of the case if your careful and delicate.

other than that, its jsut all wrenching my man. And its not too bad.

Buy the honda shop manuel. Follow it and double/tripple check everything! If your not mechaniclly inclined let a pro engine builder do it.

I consider it a big jigsaw puzzle. It can only go together one way. The correct way! If not It could get exspensive when you kick it for the first time.

I replaced my crank bearing. You have to have the bearings pressed in or do what I did, put a 2x4 on top of the bearing and wack it in.:D

if they are hard to get in you could try to use a little heat where the bearing goes and put the bearing in the freezer.

I have a manual and am mechanically inclined, i just know that there is usually a trick or a shortcut that can be taken.
