Im needing to switch out my paddles from a V paddle to a straight,I was wanting an 18 inch, but I see they dont make them for much,so Im guessing 20x10x9- 8 paddles,is this a good size to go with?I am going to be riding some HUGE dunes..so I am going to change my sprocket, what size is best? And chain to match?..Thanks

I thought my Skat-Trac haulers where 18". Maybe they are 20"...

Anyways... Get 8 run paddles. And I like a 14 tooth sprocket on stock to slightly modded bikes.

Let us know how much difference you feel from the V's compared to the straight.

There is a new tire out called Maxxis Rooster and they look bad *****!! The size I will get will be 20x11x10 I think..As far as the feel being different ..I Have run straights on mine before with my wifes paddles from her 300ex (turbo paddles) HUGE difference,I like to wear the V paddles when I want to play around and slide a little, but for climbing you definately need straights. How about the Extreme grip? The glider came in an18 but not to many others.

Oops..I almost forgot..What brand and chain size should I get for the 14 tooth? And is there one brand better than another for the chain and Sprocket?

A taller paddle will give you more mph which you prob already know. The 400EX, which I assume your talking about, already has a butt load of bottom will and can handle a larger diameter paddle. Try a 22" 8 paddle Hauler on .125 alum with a 14 counter sprocket. Keep in mind that for every lb. of rotating mass equals to 7lbs. of stationary or static mass.

I did have Kenda Straights before, and they sucked royally, and theywere 22x11x9.Bt the way...whats this "stationary and static mass stuff..."

I would go with a 20' 8 paddle tire and get the skat-trak haulers for the rear they are great tires and fairly lite. You will need the wheel spin for the dunes on you quad so stay away from the 22'. Just my $.02

Skat Trak Taller Haulers, if you can find them.

Maxxis makes Heavy Tires.
