I'm toying with the idea of running a 42mm carb on my Z400. I was wondering if anybody had done anything that big on a Z400.... how did it work?

I am getting the carb from another guy on the forum. It's off an '03 Polaris Predator. Shouldn't have any trouble getting it to fit, just a little work and some machining!!!

Well for the most part. I race supercross and the quad was setup for that but once in a will I go out to some strip mines we all ride at and race. My Z400 is one of the fastest there save for one honda trx450r that was also built for supercross, we are about neck and neck, and one raptor which is just sick!!!!! That thing could fly if it had wings!! As far as any yfz only one i've come up against that the machine is flat out faster and thats a freind of mine but he has more work done to his than I have to mine!!!! He has a sweet machine!!!! Though I have some stuff in the works. Some really trick stuff, a custom 14.5:1 compression piston, a new sleeve 95.5mm sleeve which will put me at 448.5cc, new race rod and rebalancing my crank are in order with those mods! then we will see!!!!

most of the guys are running FCR39mm carbs off a YFZ or the FCR 40mm off the new TRX450R or the CR450 bike. Get it dialed in and it will be hella fast!!
