i tighten my chain to proper tension but after one day of riding it will be extremely loose again. does that mean something is wrong with rear axle bearings or what. i ended up breaking one of the four allen head bolts.

Mark your rear carrier when you adjust your chain and see if it is moving. I highly doubt it though. It your only supposed to use 15 ft lbs I think on those alled bolts.

Is it a new chain?

Have you put your quad on a stand and checked for play in the swing arm and rear axle bearings?

How hany times has it gotten loose after riding?

Sorry for all the questions but it might help shed some light.

it depends. It could be easy on some quads nd hard on another. Mine was pretty easy

pick it up off the ground and see if you have any play in your axle bearing or swingarm bearings. If you don't you probably need to get a new chain.

sounds like you need a new chain, my friends 400 did that (2004400exa) and the chain was really bad, it was so bad it was grinding on the chain gaurd
