Has anyone ever seen or heard of anyone putting HID lighting on a 450r or any ATV in the factory housing?

We sell halogen or HID lights in a Full Bore hoodskin. Lights are frame mounted so that lights are positioned in stock location.

2004/2005 only as 2006 has slightly different frame.

Not listed on the website - give us a call or email sales@trailtech.net.

i think that PIAA maybe sells some bulbs that fit in the stock housing that are a huge upgrade from stock.

these bulbs are pretty good, i got a pair in mine right now(the 45w"S) and the beat the 27 dollars a bulb for the piaa's . i dunno piaa is a great brand.

well its seems that the link isnt working, just type in h6m on ebay. and the lights i have will come up. they are AU-LITE and you can either get 35/35 or 45/45 . 19 bucks pretty good price.

FYI,

We get this question all the time. "I want better lights", "I like the looks of the stock lights and want to put new lamps in the stock housing"

RULE#1:
When it comes to lighting, optics are king. All other variables are secondary.

RULE#2
The stock reflectors optics (TRX and YFZ) are designed to look good, they don't work work good.

Putting HID's in the stock reflector is like building your 250EX to race 450R's - WHY??

here is what i did...although i doubt i would invest this kind of money for the benefit it provides...i do not use the stock light...looks cool.

bic's 450R,

You have our MR16 HID's? Are you not happy with the performance?

They do a pretty good job, I think I need an additional light to really make the whole thing come together...maybe another beam on the bumper and move the flood a little higher...any suggestions trailtech??? it is an 06' bike.

bic's 450R,

You could run a third light on an 06 trx. The MR16 HID's perform like 100 watt halogen's. This should be enough light for all but racing applications.

Where are you riding?

I did a product review on the PIAA lights on another website. Hope u don't mind the advertising but I think it turned out good.

Well for some of us not able to afford the TT torch lights or HID lights the PIAA replacement bulbs are a great way to go. I still plan on using one of their spot mr16 100watts on the handlebars.
