no it won't work with a hotcam and is not needed but it will put a little more strain ont the starter and battery

it will run fine but it will backfire if you flood it. you have to take the spring and plunger out of the head as well.

The HotCams will tick more than the stock cam, it's supposed to be normal. IMO it's not as bad as some make it out to be.

If you put the Hot Cam back in remove the spring and plunger. I don't think it would be a good idea to have those bouncing around inside the motor;)

stage 2's tick as well.
I've had both, and both tick. Usually it's only at a lower rpm when you are in too tall of a gear at that moment.
You get used to it.

But your sig says you have a stage III, and a X-6, and a FCR 39mm......

From every pic you have ever posted you have a HMF......

You need to preface your sig with coming soon.........:D

I got the stage 2....it ticks and my cousin has the the stage 1.....it ticks too. Its normal for a hotcam to tick. Hasn't hurt my quad and its been in for about a year now.

di you adjust your valves to what the card says that came with the hotcam? cause if not it will tick loud, its usual to tick a bit.

Yeah they are adjusted to the right specifications. I made sure I did that, I even checked them again after a season of riding.

I got a hotcam stage 1 for my bike and my question is has anyone had any premature motor problems like stuff wearing out too soon? are the stock rockers and springs really up to the task?

It won't hurt to put in aftermarket springs and rockers but hotcams work fine with the stock springs and rockers according to the hotcam website. :)

Off topic but, do you need to take the head off the motor when you swap a cam or can you do it while hovering over the head?

chino886- My bike is apart and recieving the rebuild as we speak so I just put those mods there because that and I wont be riding until all those mods are done. sounds logical right? Oh those pics were me in the fall at the dunes that you've seen. I had the hotcam before I started to rebuild so i'm just posting what it was like... If ya have any more questions or "comments" then post em and i'll answer em truthfully.;)

how much clearance should the valves have .10and.12mm?
