If you guys were to pick either a 400ex,cannondale,z400, or raptor to dump 6000 into it and set it up for MX..Which quad would you buy??

get a 400ex with shocks and a 42 pilot, nerfs and some tags and then compared to another quad considering you can get 400ex's for as cheap as 5000-5300 now then compare. The 400ex's handle the best out of them stock vs stock and modded although they arn't the power king that really doesn't matter to me. Heck I won't start working on my motor tell I get a rpm axle, powdercoat, gussets and a-arms. The only time I need it is on the huge high speed loamy tracks but I don't ride on them much. You can gain some big power gains for cheap like bore to 416 and put in and high compression piston for 250-300 bucks and then get a drop in cam and you got about the same power as a raptor then and then you can still, port and polish, get a pipe, and get a bigger carb. And also 400ex's and most honda 4 wheelers are friggen bullet proof and can REALLY take a bashing.

oops I didn't notice the 6000 dollor part I was thinking price differance in the quads in the money you would save. But 400ex with long travel a-arms, axle, long travel axis shocks, itp holeshot mx fronts, maxxis razr mx rear, rear swingarm, powdercoat frame, pro taper bars, ct x-6 exhaust, fcr carb, port polish, 12.5 compression piston, bore to 440, ct cam w/ timing chain, springs, rod and all that other stuff. Now i'm done although a mx440 with axis shocks, plastic and polished frame sounds pretty good:)

I've talked with guys who have gotten their Z's for under 5300 out the door which is around where the EX is at. Handling characteristics are pretty much the same between the two. The Z's motor is very easy to massage power out of. It wakes up like a raptor when you pipe and jet it with some simple airbox mods. You don't need to mess with getting a high comp piston as this one has it stock, and as far as cams go, wouldn't ya rather have dual overhead cams with liquid cooling than a single cammed air cooled motor? A cooler motor makes better power. The EX however, has so many parts since it has been out for so long, and thanks to the Z, the bikes themselves are coming way down in price. It's a tough choice. If you're a good rider and have the money a Dale would probably be a good choice. Not the bike for me, I love my Z.

and i agree with Cannibal440. i've seen this quad at a few mx races and am very impressed with it. the price is steep, but when you start adding up all you do to any other machine, you can get 11 or 12g's pretty quick, plus c-dale is standing behind their machines extremely well - and they are the only quad manufacturer supporting racing right now.

I would hands down pick the moto, but if I had a limited budget, a banshee with lots of engine and handling mods.

Dude, that makes no sence. Engine and handling mods are expensive (especially on Shee's since you have to buy two of everything) so how would that be helping your limited budget?

I wouldn't drop 6K into a moto. I would LOVE to have $6000 to spend on my Cannibal. I would buy Gibson a-arms w/ Elka's all around for $2000 and then a pipe and remap, smaller tires (already got those), wider axle, nerfs (already got those), and better handlebars (already got those too), and you would have a BAD ***, MX ready quad. It would already put out more power than most on the gate, and the Dales still seem to be faster than the quads that have more power since they rev so fast and long.

Definitely go with a Cannibal. If you live close by, I'll let you take mine for a spin.

Hey Nausty, how come you have to get a 42 pilot with a 400ex???
