2000 and 2001 300ex

Does anybody know what got changed or added on the 300ex in 2001 from from the older models 2000-1993??

I could be wrong but i always thought that the 300ex had remained virtually unchanged since it replaced the 250x in 1993...

your right dr98 except for one thing, i noticed some where around '99 they added some type of breather hose to the air box, that and seat and plastic colors and graphics, thos are the only things that ever changed

cool, thanks guys,I just wasnt sure because the service manuals are from 1993-2000 and the others are 2001-2004,I just wasnt sure if there was a change there

i think they might have changed the air filter but thats it.

THey changed 2 things.

They added a smog box. The breather hose goes into a plastic box, then into the airbox. Not needed. Added for emissions.

They also changed the carb. Slightly larger dia (I beleive), but I know the newer ones use a round jet, vs. the older long hex style.

Not sure what year it changed.. but the exhaust silencer can changed a little in the newer models, as well.

That's it really. Nothing of major significance.
