the blackwater wasthe toughest race i liveabouta 1/4 mile from where the track it just really sucks that thetree huggers got involved and screwd it up davisisnt as bad as most people u can still ride and there a million places to ride just nothing like the BLACKWATER

It does suck they shut the race down......but there are some really cool trails up there to mountain bike on...:blah:

they shut that place down before i was born. my parents have so many stories from good old davis west virginia. i have almost every one of the movies. my dad won down their 2 times. he won both times on a 250r. he won in 1987 and 1989. the one race he won was a real muddy one and ditched his googles. he could not see towards the end of the race. he had to go in the river and wash his eyes out because he could not see. he won the OVERALL on a quad out of everyone. back then he raced the pro class when him and his brothers were really good. now he does not even have a quad. the last one he had was a fully decked out 250r that was stolen a few years back out of our garage. i have never seen him race before but have heard plenty of race stories.

blackwater was the world's toughest race. it was a cross country race. the track was 50 miles long for the quads and 100 miles long for the bikes i think. they did 2 laps. there was some huge hillclimbs that started in a river. the start was held in the middle of town. one of my personal favorite sections were the moon rocks or the wiseco woods. it was either real muddy or real dusty. the race was held by rita and dave coombs, cary-jo, jeff russel and probably timmy coombs too. rita is the one that promotes the gncc series now. blackwater was held in the 1980's and early 1990's. enviromentalist eventually shut it down.
