Here's the deal the sticker's on the CAT are not the best quality so I went to FLEeBAY and found this One Industries Raptor 660 sticker Kit for $5.00 and $8.00 for the shipping so I said what the heck, and bought it, I will take better pictures when I get some sunlite, also there's a picture before and after with spacer It made the V110 5" wider front and back.

I think that was a definate improvement.Sticker kit looks sweet.Spacers look like they made a huge difference in stability.I also noticed that you changed the bars. They look wider and definately shorter. How does she like the way it rides now with the improvements?

jocolo

How does she like the bars?I'll be looking for a sticker kit like that when I get my daughter's 110.I think we've decided on black, but that blue sure looks good!Keep us informed when you do mods especially the pipe. Now if I could find a front bumper,I'm not to crazy about the stock piece.

jocolo
02-09-2006, 08:09 PM
She likes the bar better she say they are more comfy, you can get them at www.rockymountainatv.com for about $19 (aluminum}, the sticker kit got it on ebay for $5.00 they are almost a perfect fit hardly any cutting at all, there's plenty of them on ebay, next will be a pipe, maybe some nerfs and tires, the stock ones seems to loose traction easily

Can't seem to locate the graphics on ebay.Any idea where to search.Found a few different ones but most are around $70 or more.Found a bunch with seat covers included.Wonder how much difference the size of the seats are? Here is one that would look good on a black quad. It's listed at 24.99+ shipping.

02-22-2006, 08:07 AM
Well I ordered the quad on Mon.,can't wait to get it here next week for my daughter's birthday.I'm planning on having her party Sat. and a full day of riding on Sun.

Only problem is I let myself get outbid on the graphics,SO I'll either wait and be patient(something I'm not good at)or bite the bullet and pay more and go ahead and buy some.I really like the way yours turned out so I'm not sure what I'll do yet.

Anyway keep the upgrades coming.I have a few ideas of my own,so as soon as I can get it here,I'll let you know how they work out.

Oh yeah,mailed you back.

I got the ATV bend but was thinking of getting the cr85 hi

jocolo
02-22-2006, 01:43 PM
I think a KLX110 airbox will work, my buddy has one a I was looking at it , I think it'll fit the RedCat with little modifications

4manS
02-22-2006, 01:47 PM
Oh so you went with the atv high bend,it says that the atv bend is 6 1\4" tall is this the one you got.Why were you considering the cr bend?

Thanks for the link I'll give it a try.The thing that irritates me the most about getting outbid is the guy buys a ton of atv and bike stuff cheap and resales it on ebay.

4manS
02-22-2006, 01:53 PM
The v-110 doesn't have an airbox, correct? It has aforward facing K&N style, right.I was thinking of changing to a real K&N and an outerwears. How were you thinking about mounting the airbox?

jocolo
02-22-2006, 02:03 PM
I was considering the cr85 bend cuz it may not be as wide, the airbox on the klx110 mount under the radiator side panel so just take the filter slide the airbox boot in its place and mount the airbox under the plastic in front of the quad, that way you wont have to be too carefull riding in wet conditions

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y4/micropilot/camaro014.jpg

4manS
02-22-2006, 02:19 PM
Judging by the catalog the narrowest set are the mini at 29.13",the cr's are 32" and the atv are 31.75".The atv bend is the tallest of the bunch at 6.25"the mini are 4.5"

4manS
02-22-2006, 02:28 PM
Good idea about the airbox, that is something that would come in handy.Alot of the places we ride around here are wet in some place or another.Does that airbox seal up pretty tight?

jocolo
02-22-2006, 02:36 PM
Here it is

4manS
02-22-2006, 02:54 PM
Let me know how that airbox works.I may have to try and find one.I'm thinking if I get the bars I'll go with the mini high, she's pretty small so that might work best.

4manS
02-22-2006, 03:08 PM
I just got on Rockymountainatv and they have the bars closeout priced at 14.99.Great deal!Lists all the bends except mini.

Hi Jorge,The quad came in yesterday,I'm pumped about taking her out for her first ride on it.Anyway, while putting it together I noticed under the front panel there seemed to be a factory airbox.Just wondering what you thought about it.Looks like all it would take is an intake tube running from the box to the carb and you're set. Also what bike did you get the shifter off of?The one on it is going to be to long, even with her riding boots on.

Thanks
Brian

jocolo
02-28-2006, 08:39 AM
Brian I didnt put the quad together as i was out of town my buddy did but i'll look under the front panel to see, the shifter I used was of a crf50 but it hit the side case a little maybeone from a different bike will do, I bought AC NerBars so when I install the i'll let you know how they fit. Did you get the graphics?

jocolo
02-28-2006, 08:44 AM
Brian, a pitbike pro told me that you nned to take the heather out and drill it as it come with a hole way smaller than the actual diameter size so it is pretty choked up i'll probably do it this weekend,,,,,,,,,,went riding this weekend , the redcat is an attention getter........

4manS
02-28-2006, 09:01 AM
Yeah Jorge, take the front panel off and there are two rubber bungee type cords holding a lid on.Looks like one of the companies has or does use this as the air box. There is even a hole in the back for the airtube to pass through.Looks like the biggest thing would be to find an airtube that would fit. Some buddies have some old trail70's sitting around, engine is very similar so I may try one of those shifters.Keep me updated on the parts swaps and I'll do the same.

Nah did'nt get the graphics yet, still lookin' for a deal. There's a set of pro circuit raptor graphics on right now with a seat cover for $25,I'm keeping an eye on those. We're having her birthday this Sat. so I'll get the graphics later.Definately thinking about the wheel spacers.I'm going to let her ride it some and I'll make adjustments to suit her riding style.

You lost me on the "heather" part. What exactly is that?

Great pics look like you had fun.

jocolo

OK got you now.I'll have to give it a look. Also I'm not sure about putting that front bumper on or not.I just don't like it,plus it looks like it hangs down pretty low.I found one on one of the other "sister" bikes to the redcat that I like.I'm trying to find out how much it'll run.I'll try to post the pic.

jocolo
02-28-2006, 09:51 AM
I like it if you get it let me know, maybe Jim (spliffy)can get it

4manS
02-28-2006, 02:44 PM
I checked with JIm,all he can get is the factory bumper.I'm checking with the guy that quad for sale on ebay.I'll let you know what I find out.For right now I like it better without the bumper. The front of it(frame) looks a little like a blaster,I may check into those bumpers if nothing else turns up.

Got the quad fired up and took a little test ride.I see what you mean about it falling off a bit between 1-2.The axle looks like it sits off to the left side a little, haven't checked to see if it's adjustable.Does yours sit even in the swingarm?

While I was finishing it up,I looked under the front cover again. It's definately an airbox. If you look straight back through the hole you can see the air filter is right in line.If we can find an intake tube that'll work we'll be set.As a matter of fact looking through the manual it mentions something about the airbox, lid and filter.

02-28-2006, 06:53 PM

I'll probably give them a try,I haven't heard back from the other place.Did you geta chance to check out the airbox?

4manS
03-01-2006, 12:12 PM
I just got back from the local Yamaha dealership. While I was looking for a shifter I checked out the Raptor 50.Looks like this is where the 110's plastic came from, almost identical.Anyhow this quad has the same airbox in the front, same airbox lid everything. So I got on www.motogrid.com and looked it up,that tube is 19.85+ shipping, dealership is 25.There are a few other parts you'll need that hold the airfilter and seal up the the airbox. You can look at all the parts on motogrid's micro fiche.Looks like it'll cost around $75 for everything.

BTW-I have a couple of plugs under the seat next to the battery, and don't see anywhere for them to plug into.Does yours have this or am I missing something?

spliffy
03-01-2006, 01:18 PM
Those plugs aren't for anything, they use the same wire harnes on the 150cc & they are used on that model. Also I have some specs for rims for you guys if you want them:

Rears are 4/110 Hondas
Fronts are Yamaha mini Raptor 80cc 4/88

Thanks Jim,I'll probably look into wheels later on so that info will come in handy.

jocolo
03-01-2006, 08:27 PM
Thanks for the info........Brian when i get homw from detroit i'll look under the hood, otherwise i can get a klx airbox for 15 ....we'll see

jocolo
03-03-2006, 08:16 AM
Yes the airbox is there the raptor 80 also has it....i bought a piece of blue pool cleanning hose attached it to the carb and route it to the airbox and attached the filter , it'lll do for now better than having the filter exposed, also I took the end cap of the muffler and then I cut about an inch and 1/2 from the end, open it up and took the baffles out only left the screen inside, the I put the end cap back in place and drilled 4 holes to hold it in place, now the exhaust shouldnt be as restricted.

4manS
03-03-2006, 11:51 AM
Did you get a chance to drill out the the header pipe?Make any difference?

jocolo
03-03-2006, 12:50 PM
the header was already drilled out I havent tried it yet

4manS
03-03-2006, 12:57 PM
So the factory pipe was already opened up?Did'nt you have an aftermarket pipe you were going to install?

I still haven't heard anything back about the bumpers.

jocolo
03-03-2006, 06:05 PM
I had a klx pipe but not going to used it it took most everything out of the stock pipe and it feels stronger so i just going to keep the stock, i did measure the kasea nerf bars and they fit perfect I just need to find a welder to weld the bases I'll post pics when I do it

03-05-2006, 07:30 PM
Jorge,I got on redcat's website and they have a new 110 model, the mpx-110.Looks to be the same as the vx-110 except the plastic looks like a predator.Anyway the bumper on this quad looks like the other ones I was ,interested in just painted not chrome.I'll try to check with Jim to see if he can get this since it's a redcat.

very nice outfit to deal with....had couple small issues during 'put together' and all was handled over the phone....havent had it out really yet..(its for my daughters b'day in may)//dont know how i am gonna keep it from her......only real issue i have with it is the headlamp bulbs are junk and i emailed redcat with no responce yet...found some at dealer that were same but had dual filiment..now they are real dim and i have read elsewhere others had same issue...that and i dont think the decals will hold up too long....well i will report as she rides it....maybe i can talk momma into giving it o her early.......

Jim may be able to answer that for you.But while I was on the Redcat site looking at bumpers I ran across that model. While talking to Jim about the bumper he mentioned that it wasn't in the states yet,he had seen it at a trade show. The Redcat website listed this model along with the vx-110.It was on www.Redcatmotors.com

I will have that machine in about 2 months, but the kicker is Redcat is not allowing any dealers to ship them out, you have to buy it from a Redcat dealer that is local to you, so I can't even ship one out....I know..lame heh... I bet a local dealer will run around $1400 or higher for it also...of course I will be around $1100 locally...They want to stop with the shipping Redcat branded atvs, no worries about my current atvs I sell now like the VX models, I have TONS in stock & more of them on the way, I am also working on a deal with another company & 1 other dealer on our own exclusive dealership... they are very nice machines, so keep an eye on our page, these machines will be added very soon, they are all Green stickered in CA & also have aftermarket products coming out for them, a arms, shocks billet accesories etc etc. The owner of this company is very into making his ATV perfect... even talked about making the rear axle interchangeable with a 400ex axle, kinda cool. Once this happens which should be within the month, we will activly be looking for our own dealers on this brand with very low minimum first order, we will be the midwest distributer, we also have a east coast & west coast distributer, so this will save on shipping costs & time for our new dealers of these products. These new atvs will come in a 50-90cc, 125, 150 & a 200, also has a SWEET 125 pit bike with wave rotors, all aluminum swinger & a host of other goodies & addons, also have a DOT certified 200 dual purpose dirtbike, a 150 dirtbike & to top all that a 350cc sport atv by the end of the year. Stay Tuned :)

Thanks Jorge for posting those for me.I should have shrunk em a little though:D .

Thanks mud-baron.The main reason I picked the ones I did was because of her riding gear(her 50 was yellow and black). It's almost new so I wanted to find some graphics to match everything she had.I had wanted to get them before her birthday so it would already be done when I gave it to her,but I didn't find them in time. They got here a week late. But the first day she rode it the rear of the flames on the tank peeled up so I just peeled them all off.I found these on ebay with a seat cover for $25.I just need to get the seat cover installed, although it has 660 on it.Maybe it'll make a few more horses with it on ;) .I did have to trim these quite a bit most of the way around to make them fit right but it was well worth it.AND she loves it!

The seat cover is almost perfect size. The gripper part fits right around the top of the seat.It looks like it is going to line up pretty well.If I can find a staple gun today I'll give it a try.Wonder if I need to take the factory cover off?

mud-baron what color quad did you get?Seems like I found more blue kits for a better price than the kits for black.I just tried to be patient and I saw that kit on a couple of times for 25+shipping.All together I paid $35 with shipping for the kit with seat cover.Soon as I get the cover on I'll post pics.

leave the stock cover just in case,
Here are a few pointers for you.

1. Start at the FRONT of the seat when fitting the new cover.
2. Work your way toward the rear on each side and do no more than 2 inches
of gluing/stapling on any side at a time.
things then.
4. Dont stretch the cover TOO much, it should be wrinkle free and taut but
not to the point of overstretching the material and compressing the seat
foam.
5. Use a blow dryer on low heat to soften the cover up in the corners to
work the wrinkles from the folds smooth.
6. When fitting the corners, use multiple folds instead of one big one to
avoid wrinkles and puckers.
7. Remember that you can always pull the fabric tighter and restaple easier
than you can unstaple and redo things...

Nice Pics Baron....go to home depot or LOwes and buy some of this type of hose, that way you can reposition the filter in the airbox for about 3 dollars per foot

the air box is built in with the front fender but the plumbing to connect it isnt there take the 2 screw that hold the front grill off it's under there

i use the stock filter you can squeeze the hose into the filter and fit the hose around the adapter to the carb , just lay the filter inside the box with the hose attached

The pics look great guys,we're leaving in a few minutes to do some riding, her first time in the woods with the new quad.Didn't get the seat cover on yet the staples were to long.I'm going to take it to the upholstery shop this week.

Jorge, the nerfs look great and a lot more functional. It looks like the pegs are further out now, does it affect her being able to shift?

mub-baron,I know what you mean,it was difficult for me to just wait a week to give my daughter hers.Oh yeah I saw a set of red graphics that would look sweet on your daughter's.Here it is...

Thanks for the compliments.Jorge this was your idea:).I had to take it to a friend who does upholstery work.He had to trim quite a bit from the front but other than that it fit pretty well.I was really surprised how close the seat cover was to the right size,I guess the Raptor seat is just a little longer. There are a couple of bad places on the cover in the slick part, kinda looks like air trapped in between the color and clear, but looks pretty good overall.

Mud baron I think the red ones posted above would be nice,I haven't seen many in red,now if you can catch one at a deal.

Just need to pick up some spacers for the rear now and I'll call it done for a little while. That's what the wife said:rolleyes: .

This is going to make a great pit bike for the national mx and tt races here,if she'll lety me borrow it!

I got the stock YFZ450 bumper yesterday.I few mods and should fit up.Soon as I figure it out I'll post pics.

Jim,any idea when you'll have more info on the new line of quads?Do you think the hop up parts will work with the Redcats?Very interested.

Yes some will deff work. I am thinking the bigger mikuni carb & the carbon fiber exhaust we have in the works will work for sure, I will be able to list them all once I get them in stock & see what all fits & with what mods. We are going to get a 21mm Mikuni carb in about 1 month or so & this will be a HUGE aftermarket deal for the 110's going from a no name 18mm carb to this will be a huge difference especially if we get the exhaust to fit also. Also, for all you pit bike guys... I now have 125cc 4 stroke engines, 4 speed clutch in stock that will mount in any CRF style bike, like the CRF50 or XR50, some quads also...if any body is interested... talk about a FAST 50 MOD hehe... $399 each takes em home :) They come with everything including a mikuni carb, electronics & all..you only need a exhaust, they even come with a clutch cable!

After 3 month of everyday riding, the only problems I had is

1) the swingarm bolt snapped (broke)
2)the lower engine bolt also broke
3) headlight bulbs
both of them snapped the same day (yesterday) I would recomend to get them replace for stronger ones.

some new pics

Hey Jorge post up some pics of the new tires. How do they do compared to the stockers?I should have some pics in a couple of days of the 450 bumper I put on the front.Took some work but I think it fits the quad much better than the stock one.

jocolo

I'm sorry i know I promised , just been a little lazy, as soon as i can I will, they hook up better than the stock ones and are exactly the same same, they are camparable with the holeshoots tires. this is my wife's quad but the rear tires are the same i put on the redcat

I'm not quite sure I follow you Jorge. Are you talking about hooking something with the front tire and it jerk the front end to full lock?Or maybe having front end "wobble" then it go to full lock? Not sure if that's right.

4manS
06-22-2006, 03:28 PM
If it's happened a few times I would check the front end to make sure it's still lined up.If it hit hard enough they could be "toed" out.Which would make it easier to go to full lock if it rubs something.I like to run just a bit of toe in.Not enough to scrub off speed, just trying to keep the front edge of the tire from hitting a tree while in the woods.Trails are tight around here and I've hit more than my share of trees on my utility if I'm running hard.Don't know if any of this made sense or if it would help but I hope so.You could also look into an aftermarket steering stabilizer.

How big/old were your kids when you put them on the v110?

I have a 9yo (58") that will be fine on it, but my son is 6yo and 48".

Jim from kidatvs said that 48" would be the minimum for the 110. I was looking at his 90s, but I feel that the kids would grow out of them pretty quick. My son has been on a 90 before and had no problems with it. I also sat him on a trx90 and he fit that pretty good too.

Just trying to decide what to do.

Thanks for any input.

my daugther is 12 and my son is 14 but he never did ride the RC if you go for any i'll say go for the V110 it is the widest ohf all of them and pretty well built too.
