Yup I got her for $2000, and she just signed off the title so I didn't have to get it registered and shell out more cash.

Dude, why don't you let up on this guy? You were killing his other post when he was considering buying it, now you're determined to find something wrong with it now that he has. Just because you can't be satisfied with something used doesn't mean anyone else can't. Try being positive for a change, you'll win people over a lot more easily.

85ATC250R, nice purchase.;)

I started it up this morning, needed to choke it for like a minute, took the choke off and it purred like a kitten. I did notice the tinyest bit of smoke coming out of it but its black and its probably just becasue of carbon build-up in the silencer, no biggy. She still runs good, I love that 4 stroke growl! :D

I think it looks sweet stop thrashing him NCexRider. By the way how can you consider yourself a "southern woods rider" if you live in NORTH carolina.

Congradulations!
Now that you have it home, give it a good scrubbing a very thorough inspection. It's better to catch little problems and resolve them before they turn into big issues. Given the age, I'd replace the axle, swingarm, and wheel bearings just for good measure.

Well, I just got back from takin a few runs up the street with it, I'm pleased with it but I need to put new brakes on the rear before I start wheelieing like crazy. The only other complaint I have is that when driving it the handlebars are turned slightly to the right while going in a straight line. What would cause this? The bars and clamps arent bent, I dont think the arm are bent? Could I just adjust the tie-rods?

chances are the stem is twisted or bent in some way

This is exactly what I'm gonna do.

I just ordered some parts, headlight caps, EBC sintered metal brakes, and nerfs!! And I'm bidding on a stock bumper!
