You can also check denton racing but I think they are a little high. I bought mine off ebay for $430 with shipping. And they have no more then 10 rides on them. Here is a pic of them on the guys EX.

It cost $750 just for the fronts without comp or rebound adjustments....... For fully adjustable you will pay over a grand no matter where you go........

Someone is taking you to the bank!!!!!! I just paid $750.00 for the ones on the raptor..... Preload, Rebound and Compression adjustable!

The ones on my 400 were also $750......but they are only preload adjustable.........

I did find that the ones for the raptor will fit my ex......I just had to machine down the upper shock bushings....:D

don't any of you guys have anything more than a singlerate spring?

250rmike
07-14-2002, 11:07 AM
they arnt single rate springs. they are dual rate spun on one spring like elka's dual rates. the only seperate springs i have ever seen on ohlins are on the cannondales and thats it.

They are single progressive springs.....personally I do not like dual rates. They do not handle nearly as well as progressive springs at high speeds.

Less spring is also better bottoming resistance. I got this strait form works. The more springs you have on your shock lowers the overal spring rate making them softer and not able to handle big jumps or hits as well. Multiple spring shocks ride much better at lower speeds though. The Ohlins springs are wound by making each coil tighter then the one before it. All I know is they should be worlds better then my works.

Mine are Duel rates...... I forgot to add that in....... It was 100 bucks extra each shock....... oldnumberseven, You got the ohlins with just the preload adjustment....... And they were 750 right....... How did I get taken to the bank?...... Look on any web site and they are all the same........ You may have gotten the older 2001 models........ Thats why you got a deal....... I think I got a good price for the duel rate fronts and rear....... Let me see...... For under 1600 I have duel rate 2002 Ohlins front and back that are comp, rebound, and preload ajustable....... Thats not a deal??????

Sorry bro, I did not realize you had the full set, you did get a good deal. But, if you read one of my last post, you can buy the fully adjustable fronts for a raptor, change out the upper bushings and only spend $760.00 for a pair. Also, TCS will convert any single rate ohlins to dual for a mere $150.00 (a pair). I may be selling my full set of Ohlins, I just got elkas for one of our raptors and they ARE SWEEEEET!

Hey, oldnumberseven,
How do you think the Elkas will do compared to the Ohlins???
Elkas are pretty sweet but I love my Ohlins...... I know that the Elkas are good on my buddies EX but I still like the feel of the Ohlins better....... Maybe it because I am so used to my Ohlins and I can feel the slightest differance when I ride a differant shock..... Let me know what you think.......
