I am having trouble starting my 300ex, it has spark, the fuel lines are not blocked the air filter is clean and instaled corectly but it just wont start. I think that it might be the carb. if n/e one has had this same problem or has any suggestions please help me.

try taking off you air filter and squirting a little gas into the carb.if it starts then dies something is plugged in you carb.If it doesn't try to start then check your timing and compression

What dose it do when you push the starter? Dose it want to start? Your conections all good? Did you try new gas?

1st drain your float bowl on the carb. If you get condensation or water in your gas tank, it goes straight to the bowl. Will build up in the bottom, because it is heaviner and wont mix, until it gets to the main jet.. then the bike just won't run any more.

Also run the fuel line into a glass jar until it's about 1/2 full. Let it sit for a bit, and you should be able to tell if there was water in your tank.

First place I'd look if you're getting good spark.

Then, give your carb a good cleaning.
