it is called nikasil. theoretically you wont reaklly ever need a new jug. When it comes time for a new piston adn rings and you need to have the cylinder redone you can have it sent of to certain places to have it replated. they bore out the old lining and replate the cylinder. usually the replating it thicker than stock so it last longer. you can do this for pretty much the entire life of the bike. in some cases they can just bore teh cylinder to accept a sleeve and when it is worn you can simply resleeve it. i am not sure on the 450r but on soem bike that is the case. where i work it usualy runs about $200 to hav eit shipped out and re-nikasiled. we sen ours to a place called Millenium Technologies. they do a great job adn we have been dealing with them for the past about 2 years. the are located somehwere out west, utah maybe:confused: there might be a local place that can do it as well.
