What the hell is this all about now? What are these, transcripts from some dnr meeting? I pay as much money in taxes as the next guy so why don't I have rights to use public lands and who determines the extent of atv damage? Its usually the ones opposing atvs. Its funny, all the people against atvs already have a ton of nature/walking paths where everything except atvs are allowed. Now they want to foreclose on more of the land that we have a right to. Alot of the trails are managed by local clubs and they are putting alot of voluntary effort into. Some of these people think unleess its run by the goverment its no good. Well these people should just stay home then and mind their own business.

I ride a lot up in Northern Wisconsin and it seems that most of the locals are not too fond of sport quads. I have not heard any complaints about utility quads. The fact is that ATVing is the fastest growing recreaction in Wisconsin. (By default really, snowmobiling is worthless these days) What needs to happen is more local clubs are needed for ATVers. Clubs raise money for trail development and help protect our rights. Right now I think the state is on our side and ATVing is bringing in money to areas that once depended on snowmobiling.

What I don't understand is some clubs get permisson from paper and logging companies to ride on their property, how can people complain about this? If they don't like it pony up the money and by the land.

Heh sounds like new jersey. Nowhere to ride legal unless you pay 500 dollars a year. Makes me mad when my taxes pay for everyones salery and i can't enjoy a huge state forrest that is right across the street. and if you look at most of the damage its from huge 4x4 trucks not atvs.
