The sun is in and out, but i decided to try and get a better pic of the swing arm color. I do believe it is not as reflective as the hubs merely because of its textured construction but when they are in sunlight they appear identical.

 That's what i'm talking about! looks killer... I assume you didn't re-coat it..I had a feeling it was just the lighting.

How close is the frame to completion? I am going over to C&D this Saturday to pay up on my account, That includes your b.b. not sure if they will send it out the same day or wait until Monday?

What color do you offer in the moly coating again? I would like a grey or silver if possible for my pivot bolt.

lowers in trans red
middle in mirror white
top in trans blue

What would the damage be?

Pappy

looks sweet, i just got my swingarm, aarms, clutch cover, and valve/cam cover done in trans red and will be getting it back 2maro, cant wait. i left the seals and bearings in the swingarm and the guy powdercoating said they should be o.k. so im hoping i wont have to get new ones...

Pappy
02-09-2006, 06:37 PM
your bearings and seals will be toast if the parts were cured properly.

400exrider36
02-09-2006, 06:39 PM
that sucks, my friend got his shock linkage powdercoated from the same guy and his bearings and seals are fine.....

Pappy
02-09-2006, 06:41 PM
at 400 degrees. the grease in your bearings melts. and usually it will run out all over the part. id have to ask if the parts were cured to proper temperature because i cant get away (and wouldnt even try) with leaving someones bearings in place. not to mention the grit that would remain in the bearings after the parts were stripped.

close, but this is the darker red. in all honesty, this frame should have had to be redone! first, the one hanging hook BROKE! i have no idea how i held on to that damn thing and reached another hook without letting it fall, or letting it hit me or the rack. then one pillar did not "turn" like it should and i had to reclear it. for almost an hour i sat infront of the oven cussing the powder and myself but when the door opened she was simply....

I had often wondered why some people send me stuff versus going local...

1st, sometimes local is a relative term. a 4 hour ride one way to just talk to a shop in person cost time and money. thru this website and IM's a person can chat back and forth and get the pricing and colors straight from thier home.

2nd, alot of larger shops just will not do the colors I do nor will they pay attention to the detail on small parts. they can not afford to and its understandable.

3rd, I think alot of riders feel confident sending parts to someone they know will make every effort to do the best job possible.

4th...the world sure is alot smaller then it once was:D

it looks like you got what you wanted, it will be a shame to tear it all up but we dont build these things to sit on the lawn:p

take lots of pics, enjoy everyone drooling over it, then go race it and tear it up!:D

the best way is to ride it like you dont care, because the second you do something will break, or fall off, or chip and scratch, or let go:p beat it! they make more parts and making it look good isnt that hard :D
