KFX Vs. Preddy

ok heres a question for all you KFX guys; what is the approximate speed in a 300foot drag for a KFX with everything stock except for 22inch holeshot rear tires? and, if both drivers are about equal, who would win a 300ft drag, and a 300ft+ drag, a Preddy or a KFX. i think the Preddy will take the KFX in the long run, because i know it will take a raptor! i have never raced a KFX, but my friend has one and i am just curious.


Personally, i think the Pred will take it in a drag, but i think on a track it is going to com down to more of the driver! my buddy wants to do both, so i am just curious of what i am up against! thanks!

stcok for sotck the predator should take the 400 in both races. ive clocked my 400 at 68.3 mph. thats with a hmf full system n a k&n filter

predators are powerful and very fast.. It should beat the kfx every time stock for stock.

I have a KFX\Z400 with a white bros. pipe K&N filter and jets and by friends brother has a stock predator. Every time we race long or short he blows my doors off. They are just a bad quad.

I have a freind with the troy lee edition and it does move. The weight is a bit high but still against a stock quad it should win. Though the pred. is fast you should be able to handle it with some exhaust, rev box, jetting, good clutch adjustment is also key to get the hole shots. when you have the above work done you might be able to think about changing your front chain gear say 13t. that should make it closer in a drag but to beat a pred on the supercross that takes the rider because of the weight of the pred. it is slower coming out of the turns and if you are coming right into a bigger double he proble wont go over as easily as a 400. Aso I'd run 18" holeshots on the rear and 20" on the front help with handling as well as lower the quad.

you should very easily be able to take him in the drag but on the track it will be more challenging b/c predators weigh over 400 don't they

My riding buddy has a 03 preddy w/ pure Polaris pipe jetted.I have a 04 DVX400 w Rorrier shorty jetted w/no lid.

We did several roll-ons from 2nd gear up through the top of 5th.Right off the bat I pull a half quad or better from midrange roll-on...after that we are dead even.If I get ahead I stay ahead and the same for him.We about the same wieght.I might 5lbs or so more.

The lower we get in the RPM range the more I pull him...so either my runs really good or his is off song.Mine is very crisp and he has no problem powering up in 2nd and 3rd so I would think his runs at least alright...My other riding buddy has a 06 400EX and he gets left behind when we hit it...I mean LEFT behind.Sad actually.

sounds like the pred isnt hitting right or needs a better rider, no knock on you and im not calling bs but in a drag that pred is very competitive. the kawzuki 400 is a great quad, has good snap and handles well. both are a hell of alot of fun. I ride red so no bias on either one.

off topic but does polaris use the same engines in the predator and the ranger? alls i know is i have a ranger and it HAULS! its fast too it goes around 45 mph which is damn good for a utility vehicle. ive also hauled around 1800 lbs with it too

the predator is faster but the kfx is way better the predator is mad gay and unconforble it spins a lot and the front is to heavy if u were wanted to now what to get the kfx by far but in a race predator.
