I have a stock carb on my R right now, an am beginning to have (what I think are) issues with it, so I was looking to rebuild it, and most said its not worth the money.
Now, my question is, what is a good stock replacement? where can I get it, and what will I need to make it work.
My riding is all trails, so I'm going for bottom to mid, but I also ride 6th tapped sometimes too, so keep that in mind on your reccomendations.
I'm also having an issue that some might be able to help with. I find it a real problem to shift into 6th. By that I mean it feels like I don't have enough engine to pull it. If I tap out, and I mean really wind it tight in 5th I can keep it in 6th, but accelerating from there is really hard. I have checked the bore with a bore guage, and its within spec of the piston, and the rings are brand new. Reeds looked fine. It is a stock cyl on its last 2nd to last bore, stock head, gold series pipe, and fmf pipe (power core I think), Jansen coil with the plug gapped to the book spec. Its an 86 rod and piston.
If runs fine in all other gears and pulls fine, which leads me to believe that the jetting is ok, could I just blame that on the old carb too?
