Alright I did a search, and this is what I thought everyone said. Can you just take the wires from the on/off key and connect them to the tether kill switch and it will work that way? If so does that mean everytime It is unhooked that would be the same as the key being off, and everytime it is plugged in that would mean the key is on right?

you connect it to your kill switch wires if you got a cheaper tether you need a backwards relay

So is there a way where I can use it to replace my key?

I know....but i'm talking like if you have it plugged in the 4 wheeler is on, but if it is unplugged the 4 wheeler is off. Is there anyway I can make that work with my tether? Instead of using a key

you have to cut into the wires from the coil (black with yellow stripe) you cont plug it into the key because it will make you blow fuses, if you do wire it correctly though you will still beable to use your key to turn your bike off, dont take it to some one and pay $50 to do allittle wireing job my 5 year old little bro could do

okay take your front plastics off and the black box on the left side (if your standing infront of the bike) or the right side if you are sitting on it. i am 110% positive that it has a black wire with a yellow stripe
the coil is the box that the spark plug wire is connected to.

So I cant use the tether istead of the key right? I would really rather do this, but I just want to know if there is anyway...
you could use a tether for the key if its a "normally closed" version. you'd have to find out before you bought it, they're out there. otherwise just splice one wire into the yellow/black wire on the coil and the other wire to ground(theres one right under the coil mount). you don't have to take off the plastic to find the coil, just trace the spark plug wire back and you'll see the yellow/black wire going to it. its that easy.
