who does there own maintenance? who brings threre EX to a dealer? when? once a year??? caause i dont know when i should bring my 2002 300ex after 2nd check-up. if anyone has a EX with an extended warranty, do u have to go by a certain maintenance check-up? how often??

id rather not pay 500 for an oil change and a "primary fuel feed capacitor line" change......they bull**** you alot and charge you more. DIY and save...plus you learn if yer buddies break down. get a chymer manuel.

i couldnt agree more. a dealer tried to get me to buy a v.i.p. package.$1600 this included 6 services. its abunch of crap. that one reason this site is here. buy a manuel, do what you can, and as questions along the way.;)

the dealer by me is a joke. They have a 20hrcheckup where they change ur oil, check ur spark plug, clean ur filter, lube ur chain, and lube cables for like $500!!!if u do it urself it would cost like 20 bucks. try to do as much as u can so u save money. I also like to do things myself so i know what was done not give it to a dealer and wonder if they did i right. Also there isnt much maintenence. It is extremely easy to change the oil and clean the filter and lube the chain.

yeah we got a clymer manual for us sept where we bought it the dealer ripped us off and chared us like 40+ bucks for it. My dad took his cr125 forks in to get new seals and they said we needed new bushings but I couldn't beleive it when he charged us $180 bucks. grrrr thats a whole set of tires

I do all my own maintenance/repairs, on my quad, cars, etc.

The extended warranty is just another way for the dealerships to take more of your hard earned money.

I do all of my maintenance and work. Dealers really try to tell you that you need new stuff.I just tell them no thanks, and just get this for me. Also, when you do work yourself, you gain alot of knowledge about your quad. I really dont like those people who dont even know what quad they have :(
Alot of times, i know more about the quad the guys riding on than he does.Anyone in southeastern ohio , or around the marietta area that needs something fixed, ill do it.I charge for parts, and 5 bucks an hour for labor, if anyones interested :)

If you're not sure about something, you should pick up a Honda shop manual or clymer manual. They explain everything in detail and have lots of good information in there. The only thing that would need to go to a dealer is a rebuild and even then a machine shop or one of your friends could probably do a better job.
