I started riding here 3 years ago on an atc200es,had a blaster for 6 months and roached it.I spent all last season on a new 05400ex.I have a fairly well equiped shop so most breakdowns are an easy fix.e.50 acres of closed gravel pit/50 acres fo woods, plus a whole lot more.

heres a little more,....soon as I find the disc with pics they will be posted.,.,as of right now we do not have a formal mx track(I dont know how to set it up,come and show me),but I have riddin here for 3 years and put trails up,down, around, through, over, and into everything I can find.I am 46,but the 20somethings had to watch me for half an hour before any would hit my 40 double, and then I had to rake down the lip(to much hang time for them, just right for me)the tallest hill in the pit is about 50" and steeper than most like.the sand hills are about 3/8 of a mile long and 25-40"tall.there are 4 ponds(1 is more like a 4 or 5 acre lake)the floor is about 20 acres total.we have a track in the woods that is pretty fast,we need to put in more passing areas but for now its all subject to change overnight.trail access to several restaraunts, major stores and 2 gas stations(raceing fuel is sold at meijers gas station) I have permission from all businesses to bring our money to them on quads,dirtbikes,golfcarts,snowmobiles...(they like the money we spend).we have special rules that apply to riding in the parking lots. If this sounds like a place you would like, let me know..o yea,we have places to camp, swim, and fish.more later.,.,.,

most of the pit is just a freeriding area.my big problem is that I have never even seen a real quad race track, freestyle,mx or gncc.but I have the desire and the land and equipment to make this place into just what I want .just tell me where to put the topsoil.we have 10 yard loaders in the active pit.

hard to get it all in just a few pics, but you can see most of it. my little dirt double,50 foot puts you on the frame(well for now it does to me)40 hits the lip.if you cant turn out you go down a steep 30 footer(uphill shot in another pic)

pit/wood
02-03-2006, 03:00 PM
you come down the one on the right if you come down too hot on the double and cant turn out (fun to go up)

pit/wood

always fun to go up the down hill.better lip.Steve didnt want to kick his 450r over so I dont have any riders in the pics yet.

jsmith2232
02-15-2006, 12:22 PM
We are from middleville, I do alot of trail riding on my parents 90 acres and silver lake. I've been working on making a mixed video of wheelies, silver lake but I don't have any jumping recorded, it looks like you got a killer spot do fill that in. When it gets nicer out i don't have much time on the computer so I'll be hard to get ahold of so i'll pm you my cell#. give me a call a few days in advance if possible and hopefully we can ride...

jsmith2232
02-15-2006, 12:24 PM
I tried to pm you but it said your mail box is full. do you have an alternate box for me to send it to.

pit/wood
02-15-2006, 12:41 PM
There, try that.Had to delete some old mess. I guess .I can pm you my cell #.I am here most all of the time.If you are in middleville and you decide to jump in your car and come and check it out, dont.Just bring your truck with your machne in the bed.Or you will be sorry.seen it before.:D. Another pic,Part of the sand hills .Ya gotta watch the water.

pit/wood
02-15-2006, 12:51 PM
O yea, forgot to tell ya but you must be 18,or have your parent with you.Gotta have rules.good thing is,you can take your silencers off when you ride here.we dont do it all the time .but some times we run em loud all day.jet em up,and its best to have a reverse megaphone style pipe if you want to run without a silencer. another pic. the pit floor, got a pile of material waitin for a ramp to be built.

The more riders we have the better.i guess I should mention that the local honda/yamaha dealer has a real nice mx track that is only a year or so old.I can get there by trials also, you just have to ride past the state police post.

Blood anytime you want to come out and ride, just call.Anytime is a good time to ride.we have all been talking about a night ride/party.I was thinkin we could make a bunch bonfires all over the pit, torch em and ride all night.Heres a pic of the back hills.I believe I am the only one with nuts enough to cross-face the big hill so far.Its a little rough for most.

pit/wood
03-01-2006, 10:52 AM
You dont have enough room to do wheelies dude.we dont ride like that on the roads though.we have a good relationship with the law around here. But we do have a hell of alot of room.there is a road that is not used and was built 2 years ago.its L shaped and the long run is 1\2 mile.Nice banked corner too.its part of the property. Nice video guy, liked the editing.I have never done any of that stuff.

jsmith2232
03-01-2006, 12:20 PM
I'd like to get some jumps and some dunes on tape this summer and put together another video next fall with some variety in it. It looks like you got the jumps now all we need is the weather to go along with it.

I live about 2 hours away would love a new place to ride there is a group of about 10 of us that ride together

pit/wood
03-09-2006, 06:48 AM
bring your mud gear,Bricktrx. I am still working on my ride, but I can always find something to putt around on. The pit and the sand is the place to ride at this time. Unless you like mud, then the woods are the place. 2 hours is a bit of a ride, When the weather is better there is a camping spot in the woods next to the track. We put some sand down to put tents on and there is a fire pit w/wood. Plenty of room for a trailer.

jsmith2232
03-09-2006, 09:33 AM

Well it seems that we are going to have a bit of a crowd here the weekend of the 17th. I will call John(he,s an ems for the local fire department and he drives the ambulance. on top of that he rides his 660 raptor here also.) looks like we will have more than one camera also. I will keep updating as things change. Get er done jsmith2232,bring your camera.

hey bricktrx, let me know what kind of a jump you want . I talked to one of my neighbors, and his son, who rides a blaster, can bring over a piece of equipment while you are here. If you can give me an idea of what you are looking for I can set it up before you get here. I have a few mean step-ups that I would like to try, But it would be nice to have somebody show me the way its done.

Took my first ride this season,on a yfz, had to get off it because its not mine and if I kept ridin I was gonna start hittin stuff. Looking real tight out there. Not much mud at all. HEY WITTY ,lets roll. Would be real nice to listen to pipes roarin as I am workin on my ride.

This sucks, sat was the nicest day of the year and I was sick stuck on the couch.

Other then a little mud this would have been a great weekend for riding.

pit/wood I wont be able to make it next weekend either. My wife reminded me sat is the 18th (my b-day). I guess were doing the family thing on sunday the 19th.

I'll make it out there some day.

You could always "take you quad to work to show it off" wink wink. And get home a couple hours late with a smile on your face. That will make her wonder.

03-13-2006, 09:45 AM
Pit/wood I checked my jet kit and it is a dyno jet kit, I will be adding onto my what I have in my sig a 10.8 je, hotcam stage I and k&n powerlid with a power lid and 416 where do you think i should start at for a main jet?

pit/wood
03-13-2006, 09:59 AM
I would go with 165,I think that is the biggest in that kit, cant remember but it may have a 170 in it. put that in and be carefull of your float if you are taking the carb off to remove the bowl. some people do it that way,I just tip it to the side and remove the plug myself. You comin over today? gonna snow and mess up this dry ground . better hurry!

03-13-2006, 12:42 PM
I can always find a dry spot to ride. Those sand hills are a blast. They realy tighten up after a rain. If mine was up and runnin I would be out there, its that nice.we have had alot of wind and that realy dries things out around here. Hey bricktrx, what kind of jumps do you want. Got a man to start on them this week.

Bricktrx
03-13-2006, 04:15 PM
prob just decent sized table tops for now havent jumped since I broke my wrist prob gonna take it somewhat easy at first

pit/wood
03-13-2006, 04:28 PM
I put up my first tabletop last spring. It went from 20' to 30' real quick. Then it became the 40' double. We have been looking at the back-stretch of the track in the woods. I was thinkin about 60' to begin with. Another idea is to make a set of twin table tops in the same spot.

Capt_ron
03-13-2006, 06:07 PM
i have been riding in the pit and woods for 2 or 3 years. the pit has changed alot in that time from us first opening new hills ot the point where we ride on just about every inch. it is great i have been up just about every hill on my old warrior and it is even more fun on my new raptor 700R. cant wait for the new table top or tops hehe.

plus i have not riden out there much since i got the 700 moded.

pit/wood
03-13-2006, 07:11 PM
capt_ron, Yep, I know him well. Seen him roll down a couple hills around here, wheels up. When you throw in the stuff the rest of his crew does I had to come up with a rule. None of capt_rons crew can ride unless I am warmed up, geared up,ready to go,I dont want to miss a second of it. gonna get pics this year.:D

pit/wood
03-13-2006, 07:59 PM
Scooter, listen, if you could get that recon-lookin kawasaki 250 to go fast enough to clear the creek jump then I wanna watch, and i will offer you a free tow back to your grandfathers place just to get a look at his face when he sees what you did to his quad. paitance. Someday you will get a real machine.

Capt_ron
03-13-2006, 10:57 PM
scooter i dont think that 250 would make that jump if it were 150lbs lighter and i dont think i would want to try and i tried in a junk dirt bike before the ramp was there hehe

We got it all together tonight. I used a dynojet 165 main, 3.5 turns out on the fuel/air screw, removed the choke but had to leave the 38 pilot in because the honda dealer gave me a 42 that was obviously not the right one (one had internal threads and one had external)

After running a few minutes and letting it idle in the dark the head pipe was glowing, will the 42 pilot take care of that?

when cruising in midrange and punching it it kinda lags a bit, will moving the needle to the 4th notch from the top fix that.

and top end appears to be very nice. But overall i am suprised at how much more throttle response I have.

Bricktrx brought a few fellow forum members.Heres blaster boy hittin the double, kicked up a little dirt. My first quad was a blaster, gave me a warm-fuzzy seeing him drag that 2-stroke abuse taker off the trailer. He rode it well. Even took on a hill that the rest wouldnt. On top of that he made it over the creek, didnt see it,but I was told it was a rough landing. must have been pretty sketchy cause when he came across the pit floor after that his fender fell off, bars were pushed foward and from what I heard he was nursin his nuts.

I was just lookin at you sig and noticed you have a 440 kit at 12.1. the noise that was a little high-pitched,like a squeek, was most likely your head gasket blown out. I think if you had installed 12mm studs you would have it in your sig. my money is on a blown head gasket. if the cyl head surface is damaged you can have it shaved .010 to clean it up. then you cant go to a stage 2 cam because of clearance problems(unless you want to do a little work on your piston) ooo yea I still have your stock cdi-box. I wont need my rev box untill silver(I have a white bros box I have been wanting to try) so you can just get it to me at silver, which is where I want to compare the two boxes to each other. post up and let me know what you found dude.

I'll be ready next weekend for sure, I bumped up to a 170 yesterday and picked up the needle a notch and the plug seems to be looking good and the headpipes aren't glowing anymore, djeurinks z400 will be in the shop until probably thursday or friday getting a 13.5:1 piston and hotcams in so If he's ready by saturday I might have 3-4 of us on sat or sunday. Those pics look awesome, I'm getting bored of the flat land here looking forward to hittin some of them.

It was a freakin blast dude,we had 5 from detroit + steve and stacie and a couple local riders. brick is going to post up a vid soon, and I was takin pics(I suck at it now,but give me time.) sunday tooanxious came from detroit with his ridin buddy and his wife(not in that order)
we had a young guy that has been lookin at the place from the road for a year or so. Funny,he stopped and asked if he could ride here, couldnt believe his eyes when he saw the pit. Seems he thought he was "the only one in the county with a sport quad" . Man did he biff it good. didnt see it myself, but stevo came up and told me he rolled it at high -speed and his 400ex rolled about 200 yards and ended up in the big pond.(I highly suggest a teather switch for any riders who are aggressive). He got a bada** roadrash from it. they told me he was imbarrassed(sp ch) so I will track him down and tell him to get his butt back out here and ride, cause it happens to us all if we go fast long enough.

get out here witty, its gonna be hoppin around here this year and all those who are the first people out here will be in on the ground floor. brick has been wanting a steel ramp,so have I so its coming. but we have all kinds of terrain for all kinds of riders here.

bricks bunch of detroit madmen will be here this weekend, if at all possible,as they put it.
tooanxious is going to be here, they are talking about camping out for the wekend. I believe that is what I heard him say.And I am going to get that new kid back here somehow and boost his confidance if I can. and I hope to be runnin by then also.

tooanxious had some jetting issues with his new 440 set-up. didnt have the right size, and It gave us a fit but he had a blast anyhow.

sounds like a plan Mitch. I am trying to keep this thread up to date and answer any questions promptly as I can. If I start a thread there the exposure is limited. Also it seems as if that site is down alot.
If you want to link to this thread that would be great.

Looks like a crowd on sunday,7 riders from detroit,2-5 local riders so far. the weather is holding so far.

steve and I started on a landing ramp for the steel ramp yesterday. we also found a small topsoil pile that is tall enough to get some good air on. its long enough that we are going to make it look like a table-top that is way to tall.. who knows what will happen?

raptor350-05 Who is this? This is a friend of Joe's. He was on Ron or John's warrior in the woods and he hit the jump in the center and as he hit it, the tie rod(hell if I know!) broke and he nose-dove and was thrown over the handle bars. Steve rushed him to Ionia's ER and Steve, Stacie, Josh and I went to Spectrum with him. He has a compound break on his left arm. He had surgery late Sunday night where they put in a metal plate and screws. He'll be released on Wednesday. Heard it was a nasty spill. Josh and Brendon, from near Detroit, were following him and it was nearly a three quad pileup. His spirits are down but he'll be riding before the season is over.

Is anyone interested in flattrack racing? Theres a horseshoe shaped flattrack in clarksville (little west of Ionia) at bobs family raceway. They have car, pilot, and quad clases. Its a good time and doesnt cost much. Last year there was only 6-8 quads that showed up for each race, were trying to get more of a turnout this year.

I bet you are just itching to get back out and ride?

I have a few friends that want to check out your place, but we will be coming from the Detroit area. Is it worth it for a day trip or do you recommend that we plan on doing an overnighter.

With your arm all busted up can you still tilt it back for a few cold ones after the riding is done for the day?? LOL

I have a few friends that want to check out your place, but we will be coming from the Detroit area. Is it worth it for a day trip or do you recommend that we plan on doing an overnighter.

With your arm all busted up can you still tilt it back for a few cold ones after the riding is done for the day?? LOL

Looking forward to actually getting out to see your place and not just in the pic's! Your place looks to be really cool to ride at!

Later PB

Somehow itchin just doesnt seem to capture how I feel about realy ridin hard again. Soon enough though.

I have more than a few riders from the detroit area, they all want to do an overnight but dont have the time right now. They all make daytrips and are real happy to do that for the time being.

My arm wont keep me from relaxing at the days end, just from ridin, for now.

Stevo dragged my old 200es out of the shed the other day,put the slide and throttle cable back in it along with a new plug and I was stylin on my old big red again,one-handed.

sounds like a blast i dont knwo if ill be able to climb like i used to when i did it every day ill give it a shot hopefuly you have acouple easy climbs to ramp up on till i get the hang of it again

i jsut put the final coat on my 300's frame so it should be together with in the next 2 weeks and then im out of school shortly after that ill start to organise the ride

anyone under 18 will have a parent with them or else they wont come for the ride but if you have any problems with people under a certain age i will respect any of your wishes in that regaurd. If there are any requirments or rules/regulations that need to be meet ill be sure to enforce them before we arive and while we are there

thank you for the awsome rideing opprritunity

Riding the 200 is better than not riding at all I guess! LOL

Are there driving directions posted somewhere?

Thinking of maybe trying to come out in the next few weekends, depending on the weather. The guys were talking of doing an overnighter either way so it sounds like it could be some fun!

Younger riders are always welcome here,They are one of the reasons I let people ride here.

I got into alot of trouble when I was a kid with a dirtbike, ridin where I should not.

But yea, they all need parents here if they are under 18. In the future I will have an area set up just for the little dudes. If there are some parents that want to ride here they can help me set up a track for the young riders.

an overnight would be more fun than a daytrip. We have lots of firewood here so you dont have to buy or bring it.

I am planning a night party in the pit for some time this summer, I figuire a few well placed bonfires will light the whole place up,should fun for us older riders. nothin says we cant have more than one pit party though.

As far as rules,I dont realy like to have rules but we do have a few. I go over these with new riders as I meet them. As long as we all use our heads and respect each other and the property we will all have fun.

sorry I missed your post smith, been a little busy lately.

But yea,we need a qmx rider so I can put this track together right.
looks like the steel ramp wont be up for another month, but I am reworking the jumps today. the creek jump needs work so the guys can hit the step-up without killin themselves.

Come on you guys nut-up and tell your women you have to ride something besides the mower this weekend. We need some riders out here this weekend.

two of us gotta work a full day today and i'll be on the big lake tomarrow, I'd like to get the guys together for next weekend. mike and i got our kill switches all hooked up yesterday, I think we shoulda hooked it up on jesse's 450, he bunny hopped a log and got thrown and the quad stopped by hitting the only tree for 20 feet of riverbank, seriously, he was with in a foot of drivin' her into the river, I think he'll be puttin one on soon.

Dude,I know what he was feelin. Seen mine almost go down a big hill and into the pond when my buddy got bucked off hittin the forty double. It stopped right at top of the hill.

He seems to have all the luck. He needs to take his next paycheck and buy one of those foam-rubber suits, a little hot in the summer but I think he is gonna need it.

I think if you are gonna do any type of freeriding like around here a tether-switch is well worth the 30 or 40 bucks they cost. I see alot of people put all thier money onto go-faster and look-better parts. A tether switch is kinda like insurance to me.

Nope witti, its still in pieces. Its a good thing though,if it was together I would be ridin it and the doc says no ridin my quad. Good thing my big-red is a three-wheeler.

When you comin out Witti? weekdays are good if you want to slip over here after work some night.

Hey I saw a question you asked in mds, I-96 speedway will be having quad wars this season and they will also be runnin quads on the short track 3 or 4 times this year. check it out cause I am thinking of runnin a couple races there. I know more than a few drivers that race there each week and its a good track to run at.

Its a big track, I know a few people who race in several classes there. As far as rules here is thier number. I-96 speedway 616-642-0555. The guy that owns it is named mike,I forget his last name, good guy and he has alot going on this year. I left a message asking them to send me info on rules and events for quads. You can call on fridays and get ahold of them, that is race day.

If you want to ride here Witti, I can let you know when we have a bunch of riders if you want. Or I can ride my big-red and show you around. Must be hard losing your ridin buddy for awhile. I Hope that little baby is doin good.

That would be the weekend of the 26th+27th. Right smith? If so, you better bring your tent because sat.night should be interesting.

I will have my machine dialed in by next wednesday, and I am having a little get together for those who want to help me break in my ride.

Most of you who have ridin here wanted to come back and ride with me when I healed up and had my quad finished.

I have a friend that will be roasting a bit of pig for eats, small fee for the food.

adults only on saturday night. I figuire about 6 bonfires around the pit should light it up real nice. About 2 hours with 2 chainsaws and 5 men and we can have the bonfires ready.

I need to know how many will be here so I can get enough pig and maybe a porta-jon. So far I have 21 confirmed riders,I have room for many more.

Bring your cameras

Sunday I was thinkin we could all make a day trip up to silver lake. leave at 8 am and get there when the gate opens.

post up and let me know so I can call you and get your info.

Its been a real long winter for me and I am more than ready to ride again. Old Bessie has been a blast for the past month or so but I need to go just a bit faster up test hill.

The thought of bustin air over test hill has kept me looking foward . I guess you could say this will be the opening weekend at silver I missed when I broke my arm.
