05' 400 and 04'450

I think I should have put this in my other thread, but since I'm a noob at this I dont know how so if any admins think this needs to be in the other one please move it(04' and o5'). But anyways I want to get some nerf bars and I already ordered a bumper, my question is I cant really find anything that fits an 05' 400ex. Its rather the 04' 400 or the 05'450. Now someone told me that I should order my bumper for the 04' 450 to fit my 400ex. Does this even sound right? So which quad do I order stuff for to fit mine?

The 400ex and 450R bumpers will match up and fit either quad,
for nerfs any model year of 400ex will mount up to the 2005. They havent changed the frame design just the plastic and gearing. So you could buy a set of nerfs off a 99 400ex and bolt them right up to your 2005 same with the bumpers.

But nerfs from a 450r will not go onto a 400ex.

^^^ Yep, so just to clarify, for ordering parts, you can most likely get any year, provided it has nothing to do with your plastics or the gearing (reverse, sprockets). The 450R stuff will most likely be different, although some things like the bumpers are interchangeable.

Yeah the front bumpers, are interchangeable, and on a 2004 450R and 2005 400EX the front head light and hood are the same part numbers, and the wheels and hubs are interchangeable. along with shocks on the front just get them revalved.

Wait so the hood for the 04' 450 is the same as well (I know they look exactly the same), so will the one from maier that Cris Jenks has will fit on my 400?

Ok I'm gonna make sure that the info I got is correct before I buy my hood.
The hoods for the 04-05 450s will fit on my 05-400ex.

I can still run the headlights on w/ the new hood.
If anyone even thinks this isnt correct please let me know about it ASAP

What about air scoops, I looked on www.gopartsdirect.com and they have omf ones and the quad selections are 250r
400ex (99-04)
04' 450
So I take it that I need to order the ones for the 450.

probaly for the 400ex, because the frame is the same and they mount to the frame, not the plastics... Or atleat that's how I understand it.
