Just installed a Yosh 450 motor and am looking for jetting specs for this motor with an FCR40 carb. Does anyone have good baseline settings?

what do you have for an intake? I might be able to help. I spent hrs and hrs and hrs on trying to set mine up right.

Later.

I am using the stock airbox (snorkel and top removed), stock airboot. It has a Yosh ti full exhaust. The carb is off a KX450F. It starts, but runs really rich.

O man, it runs rich? I had a hard problem trying to get mine not to run lean. I was running out of adjust. What do you have your jetting set at right now, and what is the motor doing when you ride it? I would tell you mine but I would have to look at my jetting notes at home (I am over an hr away) , so I dont now it off the top of my head at the moment. :)

Not sure of your location (temp) & elevation?

I would start with a 45 main, needle 3rd clip, main 165. acrew 1 1/2 turns out. Alot of people run these way rich.

If its 40 degrees or less where you are at I would start with a 48 - 50pilot, 170 175 main.

I haven't ridden it yet, as I just installed the motor. I just fired it up and could tell right away the jetting was off. I have been out of town the last couple of days but will confirm the current jets tomorrow.

I am in Southern California, so as we are pretty thin blooded here on the left coast, we normally ride in temps from the low 60s this time of year to the 100s in the summer. Elevation is usually about 500 to 2000 feet.

Thanks any help you can provide.
